Germany’s consumer confidence index rose in April
In Germany, the consumer confidence index registered a rise to a level of -6.20 in April, compared to a revised reading of -12.70 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to record a rise to a level of -11.90.
US annualised GDP advanced more than expected in 4Q 2020
In the US, the final annualised GDP climbed 4.30% on a QoQ basis in 4Q 2020, compared to a jump of 33.40% in the prior quarter. Markets were expecting the annualised GDP to climb 4.10%.
US number of initial jobless claims dropped in the week ended 19 March 2021
In the US, seasonally adjusted number of initial jobless claims fell to a level of 684.00 K in the week ended 19 March 2021, compared to a revised level of 781.00 K in the previous week. Markets were expecting the initial jobless claims to record a drop to 730.00 K.
US Kansas City Fed manufacturing activity index dropped in March
In the US, the Kansas City Fed manufacturing activity index dropped to a level of 23.00 in March, compared to a reading of 26.00 in the prior month.
Japan’s Tokyo CPI dropped in March
In Japan, the consumer price index (CPI) registered a drop of 0.20% on a YoY basis in March, compared to a drop of 0.30% in the previous month.
