Daimler AG (DAI.XE) said Friday that Katrin Adt will take over from Annette Winkler as head of the company's Smart product area.

Ms. Adt has held a number of different roles at the German car maker since 1999, Daimler said in a statement.

In late May, the company said that Ms. Winkler would step down as of Sept. 30. She will join the supervisory board of Mercedes-Benz South Africa in January 2019.
