Risk of it falling through which could come from several directions with regards to spanners being thrown in the works. Also the time value of money comes into the equation as investors will not see their full £8 for a while. The transaction is due to complete in the Q3 2022 but the share price will converge towards £8 as the different hoops are jumped through.

Currently yielding about 8%. I have invested some money here a little earlier which is giving me about 11%. I have every expectation of it going through. UK generally don't want to be upsetting the US at this time. ;)

Sorry if this is a naive question, but since the 800p takeover was approvedby shareholders, what is holding the share price so far back from an eventual 800p payout? Risk of the govt stepping in and pulling it?

"The Board of Meggitt PLC ("Meggitt") notes today's announcement by TransDigm Group Incorporated ("TransDigm") that it does not intend to make a firm offer for Meggitt. Meggitt engaged on a constructive basis with TransDigm and its advisers in order to facilitate an offer by TransDigm and has provided TransDigm and Parker-Hannifin Corporation ("Parker") with equivalent access to both confirmatory due diligence information and management. In addition, in response to a request from TransDigm, further due diligence information was provided to both parties after the announcement of Parker's cash offer for Meggitt. "

Have TransDigm pulled out because they feel the takeover will be too onerous or even not possible ? If Parker are successful these shares look cheap or will they be next to leave the ring ?

I'm in from 259p, so I'm very happy with the current price, and rather hoping to see 900p ... but I looked at buying another trading chunk when it was only the 800p offer on the table and the price was in the low 700s and so nearly pulled the trigger - would have very happily taken a £1+ per share windfall when the new offer came in

ZZ

Not the time to go trading these as so many holders are in with great profits and like me either have taken it or waiting to take it.

Lol - it just happened again - my remaining holding sold off at 815. I guess that's my "interest" over for now. Good luck to holders and recent buyers. Maybe there is more to come yet...

I (mostly) sold out for 745, though I can claim little credit for it. Had a sell order in for 530 and got "best price" in the Monday morning maelstrom. Left in a small stake of "house money" to maintain interest. I have little doubt that the deal will go through in time but a counter-offer is still a possibility IMO. GLA

What are the other undervalued UK companies as the US is awash with money looking for a home.

Thanx for the info. I'm a newbie with Saxo & will check "corporate actions"
is enabled. I presume I'll be asked if I want the 800p when the vote goes thru.
Also thanx for explaining why the current price is only ~732p.

Best John

You cannot straightjacket a company to undertakings longer than 12 months IMO. It is a competitive world and support for longer maybe more damaging for the company if the undertakings were longer. Current capitalist society would balk at a 12 month undertaking from a union leader so one can't have its cake and eat it.

You have to look at the underlying motives and execution of the takeover. At least here it is not PE one-trick pony scum.

By-the-way, you can vote even in nominee. Just contact your broker. :)
