23/4/2024 07:48 | Yes payday 2nd May, then 13 weeks until the next dividend, I like it, better than every 6 months, lol. | montyhedge
23/4/2024 06:50 | Anything and everything is struggling to make any headway. Rapidly running out of puff(sic) the nearer we get to dividend landing in the accounts I expect a flurry of activity over the next week and even though I have long given up the weed will continue to hold for that awesome dividend. | jubberjim
22/4/2024 21:50 | Nice to see a tick up but as far as I see just sideways swing?? | plastow
22/4/2024 17:28 | Last weeks buys at 100 pence lower not looking so bad today, a good day to be holding BATS/IMPS.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner
22/4/2024 14:39 | The weak pound helping ftse 100 dollar earners. | montyhedge
22/4/2024 08:12 | Dividend reinvestment coming 2nd May they go up, always happens, lol | montyhedge
20/4/2024 10:17 | #Action, until late 2023 getting a 4/5% return on cash was not an option, so un-invested cash was not bringing in any dividends, now the tide has turned so it makes more sense to have a higher proportion of cash ready and waiting, each to their own weighting, 10% is sensible just in case any bargains come along, BATS coming off from 2900 to 2300 on the write down was just 1 of those events (IMO), buyback secured for 2024/2025, ITC holding reduced, debt reduction in progress, further divestments likely, resulting in more of the same.. PF results are of course measured over a FY, anything can happen.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner
20/4/2024 09:10 | Sorry I mean recon AGM next week? | action
20/4/2024 09:09 | Agree. But as a trader I like cash to reinvest when share price weakens ie in case of BATS 2900p to 2280p. Also I recommend there is AGM next week?May see some share price movement up or down. Be ready to pounce. | action
20/4/2024 07:32 | #Monty, outside of gravity, compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe.. :o), 10/20/30 years of pulling power and the results are a thing of beauty.. Had a few more here last week, last batch next week and let it ride for a decade.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
19/4/2024 21:01 | Cash is king, but dividend compounding eighth wonder of the world according to Einstein. | montyhedge
19/4/2024 20:53 | I always take cash divi. Cash is king. | action
19/4/2024 20:52 | I was take cash divi | action
19/4/2024 16:05 | I will be happy if under 2300p on that date, for the dividend reinvestment. | montyhedge
19/4/2024 14:35 | Divi due on 2nd of May | action
19/4/2024 09:26 | Don't worry about shareprice unless your trading it. Buybacks until end of 2025 if I read it right, also tender offer to buyback 1 billion pounds of bonds. At this low price great for buybacks, last year would have cost a fiver a share more. | montyhedge
18/4/2024 10:57 | Only another 5% drop since the resident Buy High and Sell Low expert Topazfrenzy was pumping this with tales of doubling. Now the rhetoric has changed to "Lets collect the divis". I do laugh at he/she/its ability to get it wrong 100% of the time. | whites123
18/4/2024 10:25 | How many years would have to go by before there was any material impact on tax revenues - stopping 16 then 17, then 18 year olds from legitimately buying cigarettes? Even then to counteract they could just put up the tax by a % or so. There is a much lower % of young people smoking so they are already a declining source of income compared to previous generations. The way party politics is driven you can imagine the outgoing party would be happy to reduce the next 5 years tax take anyway so they can blame the new govt for having to raise taxes... | fenners66
18/4/2024 08:45 | #Kiwi2007, in NZ the law got repealed to fund tax cuts, the Gov could not balance its books without their duties and income.. Here in the UK duties/taxes bring in around GBP10BN a year for the exchequer, take that off the table and it has to come from elsewhere.. Bargains for under or around 2300 in March/April in the pot for the long term, a 10% compound return for 7 years owns your full holding for nothing and what it is worth at the end is the bonus, but at some point there will be consolidation in the sector IMB/BATS will undoubtedly be a big part of it.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
18/4/2024 07:49 | Of course it won't come in here. Nanny state, don't gamble, don't drink, don't smoke, don't vape, don't eat it too much, drive electric cars only. | montyhedge
17/4/2024 21:12 | I wanted to add a comment on the discussion in Parliament about banning smoking for people born after 2009. I talked to a colleague about the proposed ban (my colleague has some involvement on the law side). We discussed the impact on many facets of age, discrimination, equality, etc. My colleague suggested that a few court cases will be brought on the aforementioned topics. With the outcome of the Government losing and probably the law change after a large payout. Sometimes people lose perspective on what they trying to accomplish. Also, common sense sometimes does prevail after a decision is made poorly. Wales reviewing the 20 mph limit nationally only to be used around schools, hospitals, and Nurseries. Happy Investing | hope1815
17/4/2024 20:35 | I think you're correct about Mordaunt. Electable. The only potential exit strategy from obliteration. | pander45
17/4/2024 17:02 | It won't happen, Sunak gone after local May elections wipe out.Morant will be next Tory PM, she was against it. That's the way I see it. | montyhedge |
