Rinker Group opened higher on the ASX this morning and trade at A$18.53, up A$3.70 on the bid by Cemex and expectations of a counterbid by Lafarge.

Rinker Group have jumped 33% in New York to US$71.90, up US$17.90.

This follows an approach from Mexico's Cemex SA that followed earlier rumours of an interest from Lafarge.

Rinker's Final Dividend will be A$24 cents ( 60% franked ) a share. A capital return of A$50 cents a share will be paid in addition, plus an A$40 ( unfranked ) cents a share special dividend ( payment on August 17th to those registered on July 25th ).

The sentiment index rose to 82 at the close on the NYSE and RIN closed at an all-time closing high of US$80.00. The stock may open higher on the ASX this evening.

Still looking strong are Rinker Group after closing on the NYSE steady at US$79.10 ( all-time high of A$79.80 earlier in the week. ) Sentiment index is steady at 79. Close on the ASX at A$21.55.

Moving on to A$19.14 as the A$20.00 mark gets closer. US$71.10 at the close in NY on Thursday. Rinker has now trebled in price since the split from CSR Ltd three years ago.
