When a company changes its name, the CEO usually starts the presentation with why the new name is the new name … not mentions it in dispatches at the end of the presentation. Really odd. Anyway let’s see what the promised accretive royalty is … should be the nest news up.🤷‍♂️Ԁ77;🏻

The name seems pointless to me, don't like it. Thought they'd put royalties in there. The 'Eco' phrase is part of another word, if I was to hear the term ecora, I wouldn't think it had anything to do with 'Eco' (like when I hear the word Panther, I don't think of pants).

Not convinced about the new management. I switched quite a bit to Altius as think they're really on the ball (though share more expensive).

I don't like name changes, nor ticker changes without some very compelling reason for the change.. This is a pretty uninspiring name to spend shareholders cash changing to.

I'm just hoping that as oil attracts more and more funds and the greenwashed businesses attracting flows with their "green" credentials deflate we don't also get sold off...

Seriously underwhelmed by the new name and the lack of explanation in the RNS was deafening. Presumably ECORA stands for ECO-friendly Royalties or some such, no doubt we will find out in time.

What’s worse is that there is already an ECORA in Canada which is an engineering, environment and natural resource consulting company! You would’ve thought that they would at least have identified a unique name for our unique proposition. Put ECORA in your search engine for a website and it brings them up, not us. 🙈

I have since edited this post because right at the end of his presentation on the new website MBL explains what the mnemonic means. E is for energy transition, CO for commodities and RA for royalties. I’m still underwhelmed and still gobsmacked we did not pick a unique name, but there you go!😂

They probably paid over the odds for this corporate nonsense and I think it detracts from the original name of the company rather than enhancing it. I guess that’s the privilege of being a new CEO.

Anyway, we are where we are and luckily the underlying royalties are good and no reflection of the new name! 🤷‍a94;️🙄

#The Deacon, I too was hoping for XYZ royalty and streaming Co, but that said if you think of the name change in terms of the new ticker/TIDM of ECOR or Eco Royalties, it does stand out in a watch list, and was perhaps the logic, which works well for us..

Excellent change of name.Ecora Resources, the "Eco" puts emphasis on the fact that they are involved with resources that are kinder to the environment.

I was hoping for a name that reflects their key position in the royalty and streaming space. This isn't it.

Change of name to Ecora Resources

Anglo Pacific Group PLC announces that it has changed its name to Ecora Resources PLC. The new name reflects the Group's successful transformation from a predominantly coal royalty business to one that by 2026 is expected to generate over 90% of its revenue contribution from commodities required to support a sustainable future.

The Company's Tradable Instrument Display Mnemonic (TIDM) code will change to "ECOR" on both the London and Toronto Stock Exchanges, from "APF" (London) and "APY" (Toronto). The Company's shares will trade under the new name and TIDM on the London Stock Exchange from 8.00am tomorrow, Thursday 6 October 2022, and on the Toronto Stock Exchange from 9.30am ET on 6 October 2022.

.....Laurence...... with the best will in the world....you are just guessing... and your forecasting skills have proven to be very wide of the mark.

Would you care to comment on your post number 11062 from a year ago on 21/9/21:-

"The inflation cat is not going back in its bag anytime soon either, right now I cannot see the MPC putting rates up although the last meeting vote was a lot closer than I thought it would be.., if we get a few 0.25% rises by 2023 it will be a start but to stop inflation we need to be on the same % number or higher, so 5/6/7/8% and that just is not going to happen IMO, it would cripple business recovery, home owners, and the Gov who cannot pay back the debt at 1% let alone any higher.."

Above you say "... so 5/6/7/8% and that just is not going to happen IMO "

Yet two days ago you totally contradict yourself and say "...base rates will be 5/6% in the NY, so we would be exposed to the thick end of 10% debt interest, right at the point we become debt free.. :o)"

...share price a year ago 140p. Price today 150p..... and all your blogging of how great things are.

please!

all imo. dyor.

#The Deacon, interest rates are only going 1 way for a year or so, the cost of our debt facility for the VB acquisition (carried over for the S32 deal) was LIBOR + 2.75% to +5% depending on leverage ratios (the Group would expect in normal circumstances to be between 2.75% - 3.50%)

Hammering the debt out now is absolutely the right thing to do, base rates will be 5/6% in the NY, so we would be exposed to the thick end of 10% debt interest, right at the point we become debt free.. :o)

Many thanks to Kestrel and the new royalty tiers, USD265/tonne (AUD400+) for September and trading sideways very nicely indeed..

100 and up to 150 - 12.5%
150 and up to 175 - 15%
175 and up to 225 - 20%
225 and up to 300 - 30%
>300 - 40%

Q3 ending today and our next update October 26th..

Recent discounted placing by Sandstorm - in order to pay down their credit facility, is a perfect example of why APF's drive to reduce debt is the right move. Following recent acquisitions Sandstorm had almost maxed out their $650m credit facility. According to their IR, if the Fed follow through with their plans on interest rates it would see Sandstorm's cost of capital go from 3.5% to 8%. With such uncertainty abound right now, no/minimal debt combined with significant cash flow is the way to go.
