Pretty quiet here and these are usually the best shares. Took a maiden position at 117p to see what emerges. Lot of debt after the IPO is my concern but seems to be a market leader. Also new builds stalling but perhaps the new heater will propel sales.

Stelrad Group plc, a leading specialist manufacturer and distributor of steel panel radiators in the UK, Europe and Turkey, announced its FY21 numbers this morning. The business recorded good progress across all territories, overall revenue grew 38.5% to £272.3m. Statutory operating profit was up 36%, statutory profit and EPS up 68.5% to £14.7m and 121.51p respectively. The business listed in November 2021 and announced its maiden dividend of 0.96p per share. Valuation looks pretty reasonable with forward PE ratio and PS ratio top third for the Machinery, Equipment & Components market. The balance sheet is also strengthening with net debt down to £40.9m. Healthy profitability ratios have been enhanced by further production transfers to the low-cost Turkish facility. The outlook also looks optimistic with trading since the period end broadly in line with management expectations and the Group well placed to build on the strong momentum generated in 2021. BUY....

Further conversation with my mate revealed their 10 year guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. They claimed it was his fault despite the 4 yr old radiator being the newest in his house by 10 years. He would never buy a Stelrad radiator again ! He even had to arrange at his own cost the transport to one of their distributors.

I share your concerns and a mate of mine just had an extremely poor response to a product failure which is always the sign of a company not focusing on the customer and relying on market trends to pull them along.

....and I'm out. I have become concerned about inflation and how it could hit this business. They consume a lot of steel and that has shot up , so has energy which I guess they use a lot of as well , then there is general inflation and a possible consumer squeeze and how that might demand for new radiators and / or the companies ability to pass on higher input costs onto consumers.
Too many hazards for me so I am out.

Thanks Philanderer.
This all makes sense to me. Useful 4% divi coming down the line. Company seems to be at the top of its game, good pedigree and appear to be able to manage the rising steel prices well enough, low cost manufacturing base in Turkey that benefits frm Turkish currency woes. I'm in at 219p.
