Expecting payout from the scheme of arrangement on these next week. 2nd Jan looks like the date but could be a day or so before the consideration hits accounts.

Interesting that one of their main funds (GRID) getting absolutely battered. Not sure GHE would get such a good offer now given the overall collapse in market sentiment since July - thankfully sold GHE on day of announcement so locked in that nice 50% rally!

Was there ever a share consolidation on this over the years?

On the history, Gresham House plc was a rather odd investment trust with property assets, a large stake in Welsh Industrial Investment Trust plc (which I also held) and various other mostly small cap holdings.

It was managed by A. P. Stirling for many years as was Welsh. A few of his other holdings were TRT and SAL both of which still exist. I have accounts back to 2000, but it didn't do that well for c15 years before its deal with Tony Dalwood instead of winding up. Its illegible 1857 incorporation document is available for viewing at Companies House.

The company was only set up in its current form in 2014 so the share price before that is completely irrelevant - I believe they used Gresham House as a shell to list the new company.

I do believe these were as low as
1 penny in the middle 80s if you know the lowest price for these it will be interesting

Will be interesting what Simon Thompson thinks. A few months ago he thought a move to £14.50 would only just start representing fair value. £11.05 seems like a real bargain for them.

Topvest - also sad to see yet another Aim/aquis company disappear, after crestchic, sureserve and national milk though never quite thought the playing field was level for private investors with founder shares, LTIP, share options all to be considered. suppose it's all about incentivising and retaining the staff. will be interesting to see whether their charge on their low-cost forestry funds, several of which have a carried interest provision, will rise...

Would normally sell in these situations but 4.5% discount to the bid price seems a bit unreasonable so will probably hang on for now.

I have owned Gresham House (LON:GHE) since it was an investment trust, so its been a good journey and I have achieved a 4x return since 2014. I'm a bit surprised by the offer. Disappointed it is leaving the listed market, as its a great company led by Tony Dalwood, but its a good price. This will definitely have an impact on Foresight group (LON:FSG) which I also own as they are virtually identical asset management groups. It maybe also reveals some value in Petershill Partners (LON:PHLL) as well, although I am a bit more suspicious about the opaqueness of this Goldman Sachs vehicle.

For those of you interested in history, Gresham House plc is pretty much the oldest company on the London market and has been going since 1857 with a company number of just 871! Sad to see it go private, so I have mixed feelings about the bid.

Nice to have some cash in this market, but this is an area I wanted to retain exposure to. What alternative renewable funds (particularly energy storage) are investors in here likely to move their money into?
