There is only one topic being talked about in the darkest corners of the City – rumours that Nasdaq, America’s biggest stock exchange, is sniffing around London’s junior Alternative Investment Market.

Insiders say speculation has been buzzing for several weeks that the US group is eager to do some sort of deal with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) to buy AIM and bolster its European operations.

NickB your skills have been apprant to those that follow this thread for some time, and I acknowledge and respect your point of view.

From time to time we are on the same side. :-)

We should at last get the spike I suggested should come a few weeks back, if not tomorrow before the webinar, which should make this thread a even more active thread at or after 6pm tomorrow

I will be all eyes. 🤩🙄

EUA was a 100-bagger for some people a few years back, in fact it 80-bagged in the space of 9 months. Due to being cautious I only 20-bagged in it. But 100-baggers do happen! (rarely).

For those that haven’t read it I would suggest Fooled by Randomness by Nicholas Taleb.

The reality is that most moonshots fail, but occasionally one does make it into orbit and beyond. The key is position sizing and risk management, or just gamble with what you can afford to lose.

Not sure his 50k would have made much difference to his bank account. Probably cover one of his lunches

No, that's why big money does not dabble at the AIM level. Pension investments are suppose to have a well balanced portfolio. I should have done that with my SIPP, but the children weren't old enough at the time to give me advice.

Concerning options, this is just a thought.
IF we get an approach for the purchase of Blackbird, one way a purchase could be made is in shares. If the purchaser wishes to retain staff, then offering a direct swap for staff share holdings gives those staff an incentive to stay with the new company. In fact in such a scenario, staff without shares would probably feel aggrieved.

Are there any investments in the stock market that come with a money back guarantee if they don't make you a huge financial profit?

They know I'm very excited about Blackbird, they know I have followed it for decades and they know about my recent purchase, but I don't have a clue about their investments.

clocktower
They have seen the damage caused by me loosing all my pension in a SIPP. Obviously that makes me cautious anyway. One of my sons advice is probably the best I could get in the country, he has CFA for starters 🙂

It’s in investors interest that we retain an excellent team

Seems so obvious!

I respect that

Plus many years investing in financial markets

So for me personally my view trumps your view

OPTIONS are often given to try and stop employees going elsewhere ....they usually lose the Options if they leave

So...handing out Options to the team, if so..with targets... is a good means of trying to keep the team together..

Yes Hyper.
It is vital , more than ever, that at this time, the whole team at Blackbird feel their extra efforts are really appreciated via salary and also options if options are the norm in such a situation.
I sense one of the reasons for doing this today is that the directors hopefully feel that this is the low point of the share price.
