Does anyone know if RBC are likely to increase fees and charges for these clients, as I am a client of BD.

it was clear as day to me that a takeover would happen soon. wealth managers are getting plenty of speculative offers and inquiries for their businesses and have been for some time. for partial exposure one can still buy Caledonia investments who own 7IM wealth managers (in the books at about £140m but recent bid of £300m rejected), plus other related wealth management assets. total market cap just shy of £2000m. it was in fact that recent bid for 7im that prompted me to look around for cheap wealth managers.

Quite a long wait for the 515p - end of Q3. Looks like there won't be an interim dividend as well. Always the chance of a higher alternative bid in the meantime I suppose.

Nice exit, now time for RAT perhaps, looks mighty cheap and still on the shelf, but that's s lightly bigger fish.

Well that's Charles Stanley and Brewin Dolphin in a matter of months. Happy to take the profit, but it's disappointing to lose two independent and very long standing UK wealth managers in such a short period of time.

this is a very obvious takeover target IMO. consistent net inflows and rising fee income over the past few years, m&a mania in the sector due to predictable long term growth trajectory and sector economics, and the share price is 25% below pre pandemic levels. could be used as a platform by PE to build further scale. even if it doesnt happen, you're being paid to wait with a 6% dividend.

Diffidus, the market works on expectations. I don't know what brokers were expecting for today's results but despite everything being up as you say, if the numbers themselves fell short of what the market was expecting then the shares will be marked down. The same applies for companies that deliver what appear to be awful results but if they are not as bad as the market expects then the share price will go up.

Yes seem decent enough results but profits being taken I guess. Very harsh back in 350s.

I’ve known Brewin’s since the mid 90’s. It’s an average organisation,as is proven by shareholder returns over the years.

It’s a 3rd generational company. Typically what that means is the original business builders have been replaced by corporate gimps more interested in their own pay than shareholder returns.

A bit harsh maybe but not too far from the truth.

Over 360p, still well below pre covid high and business is better, so still see 400p as realistic.
