04/3/2024 15:02 | Bought in here after at 490 following director purchases which have being well timed in the past although yet to bear fruit. | gopher
27/2/2024 11:46 | Institution deals would be many more than a couple of 10000 share trades.. | wiltowin
26/2/2024 22:42 | Interestingly a couple of 10000 shares traded at 495 today which look like sells particular as close was 470. If institution is selling down then the shares could be heading lower. Octopus buys when profit warning first occurred put a floor on initial fall. | gopher
26/2/2024 08:28 | From a recent think-tank article.. "Accelerating demand for AI servers and AI-enabled end point devices will drive more semiconductor content in 2024-2026 fueling a new upgrade cycle across enterprises. We expect that by the end of our forecast period, AI silicon will account for almost $200 billion in semiconductor revenues." | wiltowin
25/2/2024 09:12 | Now turning out attention to the important new sibsea data cable customer GHH have.. I quote:- "It had also secured a significant new customer in the subsea data communications market, poised to contribute to revenues in the latter half of the 2024 financial year." Fiber optic lines transmit data as pulses of laser light. As with terrestrial fiber optic lines, using multiple frequencies of light — colors, to you and me — means more data can be sent at once. Network equipment ashore at either end of a cable encodes data into the light for transmission and decodes it after it's received. TeleGeography, which tracks subsea cables closely, projects $10 billion will be spent on new subsea cables from 2023 to 2025 around the world. The number of subsea internet cables has surged. By 2025, a total of 552 should be operational. Looks like it's a growing business to get involved in.. | wiltowin
24/2/2024 17:09 | GHH make optical components used on the gimbals within drones for those whom are unaware. | wiltowin
24/2/2024 10:39 | UK Defence Drone Strategy launched to deliver unified approach to uncrewed systems across all three military services, supported by £4.5 billion of investment. It all helps.. | wiltowin
24/2/2024 07:39 | I prefer the military theme lol | wiltowin
23/2/2024 07:49 | Hi wiltowin - forgive my sense of humour but I kind of like the idea of 'using up old infantry'. Reminds me of Dad's Army on TV. With recruitment an issue for the Army right now they probably are doing just that. However, I suspect that companies are sticking to using up their old inventory! | redwing1
22/2/2024 17:39 | Looks like Octopus Investments Limited thinks it a good decision to add to their holding also. | wiltowin
22/2/2024 11:45 | They did warn of companies using up old infantry (stockpiles built up post covid due to bottleneck problems) hurting industrial orders last autumn but my take on that is they'll need to replenish sooner than later. Also with the new undersea data cable contract and the defence business going from strength to strength I'd not be surprised if they revised the FY profits upward in H2. | wiltowin
22/2/2024 09:26 | That’s what I’m saying wilt, do we top up, just stick with what we’ve got or sell up and wait for a potential second profit warning? Decisions, decisions. | warranty
22/2/2024 08:47 | Unless you wanted to top up which many I'm sure did.. | wiltowin
22/2/2024 07:59 | More than disappointing coming after their last very positive statement. Profit warnings rarely come in ones so it’s at a point where you ask yourself do I stick, twist or fold until things improve? | warranty
22/2/2024 07:35 | You got to also realise that G&H are almost into the second half of their current financial year which started last last October 5 months back. | wiltowin
21/2/2024 21:16 | Couple of nuggets from the AGM, namely the important new customer in the subsea data communications market plus doing good business in their medical diagnostic and A&D arm. In fairness they had warned of the reduction of inventory by their medical and industrial laser customers. Obviously the estimated £3m reduction in annual profits is disappointing but looking past this there's optimism. I added to my holdings this morning and will continue to do so on further share price weakness. | wiltowin
21/2/2024 18:21 | Closed down 16.4% at 510/520 so well done those who bought it at the open. | pugugly
21/2/2024 13:30 | 3 x 50000 buys at 9am put a floor under the stock today but the risk seems that an institution sells down on this resumed run of disappointing news just as they looked to be turning a corner. I continue to monitor. | gopher
21/2/2024 09:38 | can always be relied on for underperformance, either not having sufficient skilled staff to fulfil orders in a reasonable time post covid, now destocking by customers ?increased competition, is it bad management or bad luck? | 1c3479z
21/2/2024 08:35 | Not invested here, but reading the statement it was a profits warning. so hardly a call on the morning move, no market is very forgiving, but disappointing after last set of results and accompanying statement. | bookbroker
21/2/2024 08:07 | Opened down 25% - bookbroker U called correctly - Now to see where it closes. | pugugly
21/2/2024 07:52 | £3 million hit to profit expectations. "Adjusted profit before tax is anticipated to be circa £3 million below management's previous expectations. | pugugly
21/2/2024 07:18 | Disappointing statement! | bookbroker |
