Alstom Wins EUR800 Million Follow-on Order for Trainsets in France

(MT Newswires) -- French train maker Alstom (ALO.PA) secured an 800 million-euro order to deliver 103 additional MF19 trainsets to Île-de-France Mobilités and RATP, according to a Thursday release.

The follow-on order forms part of a 2019 framework agreement for the delivery of up to 410 MF19 trainsets to RATP, with the new fleet to replace the existing rolling stock on lines 13, 12 and eight of the Île-de-France metro as of 2027.

Alstom to fit Île-de-France RER lines with NExTEO signalling technology

Alstom has won a twelve-year framework contract to develop and deploy NExTEO signalling on the RER B and D lines in the Île-de-France region.

The contract, worth almost 300 million euros, is to provide a new train automation, control and supervision system and was awarded to Alstom by Île-de-France Mobilités, SNCF Réseau, SNCF Voyageurs and RATP.

NExTEO is a new Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) which is part of a wider hat strategy to modernise and optimise the infrastructure of the two Express Lines. The aim of the strategy is to increase the reliability of train passages in the common tunnel between Gare du Nord and Châtelet-les-Halles stations as the number of passengers increases.


Alstom, which is also supplying new trains to the lines, promises that NExTEO signalling technology will help to ensure high standards of performance in the central Paris area, which is densely populated, while also managing the less densely populated areas on the RER B and RER D lines' suburban branches in the Île-de-France region. It is able to simutaneously apply the operating and interoperability rules on the SNCF national railway network and the extensive RATP urban network, particularly on the RER B line to the south.

Alstom claims to be the world leader in the CBTC market, having provided high-performance urban signalling systems in service on 145 lines worldwide. Alstom technology is already being used in European cities including Madrid, Milan, Lyon, Lausanne, Paris and Amsterdam, and is being installed in several others.

Alstom has developed and deployed the new Urbalis solution on the RER B and D lines using the railway signalling expertise of more than 2,200 workers at three of its French sites :

Saint-Ouen and Aix-en-Provence, for system specifications, development of the solution, integration of the signalling system and its deployment on the Ile-de-France network, as well as technical expertise support;

Villeurbanne for on-board CBTC equipment and trackside signalling products, as well as network, cybersecurity and remote maintenance systems.

With this new contract, Alstom will equip a total of 350 trains and 100 kilometres of these 2 RER lines, which are among the busiest in the Île-de-France region.”

ALSTOM : JP Morgan maintains a Buy rating

The target price is unchanged at EUR 22.

Alstom secures contract extension worth £825 million

French multinational stock manufacturer, Alstom, have extended their Train Services Agreement (TSA) with CrossCountry in the UK valued at £825 million.

The eight-year agreement will allow Alstom to continue to maintain, overhaul, service and clean 252 vehicles of the CrossCountry fleet at their primary depot in Central Rivers in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.

Nick Crossfield, Alstom Managing Director, UK & Ireland said: “We are delighted to extend our Voyager Maintenance Contract with CrossCountry for another eight years. We have worked in close partnership since 2007, providing reliable, well-presented, and safe trains for all CrossCountry’s customers. We look forward to working with our colleagues at CrossCountry to help them deliver a high-quality train service for the next eight years.”

The contract places a strong focus on robust fleet performance, with a collaboration team between Alstom, the asset owner and CrossCountry established to identify optimisation and improvement initiatives, as well as ensuring the quality of the passenger environment.

Improving the onboard experience is critical to ensuring our customers view us as a long-distance operator of choice and we look forward to working closely with Alstom in the years ahead to deliver these improvements.”

As part of the agreement the fleet will be installed with an Intelligent Engine Stop Start (IESS) system, which will drive a reduction in fuel usage, emissions, and operational costs. Additionally, the collaboration team will continue with other fuel savings measures to build on the weight reduction initiatives already undertaken, or underway, which will substantially reduce the emissions produced from the fleet.

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)--The title of the railway equipment manufacturer Alstom gained 3.3% to 25.3 euros, achieving the strongest increase in the CAC 40 index, after a favorable rating from JPMorgan.


The US bank raised its price target on the value from 33 to 34 euros, while reiterating its recommendation to "overweight". Following the publication of the 2022-2023 results, the financial intermediary believes that the fears raised by Alstom's balance sheet will fade.


The group achieved its free cash flow target for the year ended March and announced a "significantly positive" free cash flow for the 2023-2024 financial year. JPMorgan also stresses that Moody's "stable" outlook, despite the downgrade of a notch of the credit rating, reflects the absence of immediate risks to Alstom's investment-grade credit rating.


Finally, according to JPMorgan, the achievement of the medium-term margin target, i.e. at the end of the year

ELEMENTAL ALTUS ROYALTIES ANNOUNCES 65% INCREASE IN GUIDANCE FOR 2023

Elemental Altus Royalties Corp. (“Elemental Altus” or “the Company”)
(TSX-V: ELE, OTCQX: ELEMF) announces 2023 guidance of between 9,000 to 10,200 Gold Equivalent Ounces (“GEOs”) representing at its midpoint an approximate 65% increase on the 5,800 GEOs received in 2022. At a US$1,800 per ounce average realized gold price and US$3.75 per pound of copper, this guidance would provide the Company with 2023 revenue of approximately US$16.2 million to US$18.4 million1 with approximately 70% attributable to gold and 30% to copper.
