03/4/2024 14:01 | Coalition been sold:- I walked past Lowlander a couple of weeks ago and that seemed fairly busy but then it should be in its location. | jeff h
03/4/2024 13:53 | I live near Brighton and went to the pier twice over the long bank holiday weekend. The weather was great on all 4 days and both days i visited the pier it was absolutely mobbed - as expected with the sun out!!! According to their annual report last year, Last easter weekend was very rainy.... Of course, i don't expect the annual report due at the end of April to be brilliant - they already gave us the heads up on that. I'm in this for the long term. They are hugely cash generative and have a decent balance sheet. I am hoping that they will have offloaded a bar or two and put the cash to better use - ie another indoor golf centre or something. As an aside, IS partners have taken a 3% stake according to the updated shareholder register on the PIER website | thecroots
03/4/2024 09:39 | It's going to have been an Eater washout on the pier, but hopefully the long-term story here is much bigger than whether or not it rains on various days. | ijamlon
28/3/2024 14:12 | Better not be an Easter washout for this one! | bookbroker
28/3/2024 14:07 | Mental - 3 small buys, and a large buy of 40k. Then 1 sale of 1000 shares and 2 market makers drop the bid. Are the market makers really forming an "Orderly" market!!!! | thecroots
12/3/2024 17:48 | I have been hearing some very interesting things about the extremely high margins and popularity of VR experiences from someone with direct knowledge. I think pier have a toe in the water but this is clearly the future (and present). They would seem perfectly positioned to take advantage : they have good locations and operate in similar segments, capital investment is low and the franchise model is a simple way to jump start. Has anyone heard anything of plans in this area? | ijamlon
08/3/2024 19:35 | yes, i have been adding! Good to hear from you - and yes would be happy to compare notes sometime. Where you based incidentally? Yes the finals are out in April. Not expecting anything great from them. We know the weather hasn't been great. With that said though, we will up against a lower sales base so hopefully will do OK this coming year. I am hoping for one or two disposals of bars so that money can be deployed to open up another indoor golf centre or invest in LWV. yeah the late september update is the key one as this is the update after the hugely busy period... Be interesting to see how popular the Annual pass with be. | thecroots
08/3/2024 09:03 | Mr Croot - you certainly have added a lot! You're in disclosable territory now. I am also a large shareholder though not quite on your scale. Look forward to comparing notes sometime. Last year there was an announcement on the final results for prior year on 24th April. Assume we'll get the same this year, though as you say hard to see much of significance coming from that. The late September update is where I imagine we'll get the best reading. | ijamlon
04/1/2024 15:00 | Looking like it's going to do what the share price done at beginning of 2021 from the same 34p base. It went to 115p then.... Click on the 7 year chart and you will see what I mean | thecroots
04/1/2024 13:18 | Well done Brighton Pier investors, patience and nerve pays! You have now made a gain of roughly 100% in just 1 month! | ijamlon
04/1/2024 11:52 | Yes be a lot quicker to set up | thecroots
04/1/2024 11:42 | That is better! | bookbroker
04/1/2024 11:31 | Not planning lodges any more it seems. They are opting for 31 glamping pods according to the Yorkshire Post today | davidosh
04/1/2024 08:54 | looks like a bid is on the way | goldie40
03/1/2024 14:22 | Agreed.... so the more spend directed to the high margin activities the better. I think the pier will have a lot of concessions so not every pound spent on the pier will be revenue to BP...probably less than half but they do gain from the concession fees which are stable income | davidosh
03/1/2024 13:13 | Good point. Like a 2 for 1 on golf. Golf has a GP on 99% | thecroots
02/1/2024 18:29 | I think they should offer the Annual pass holders additional big discount benefits to try out the other leisure facilities and parks within the group. That creates synergies of having a larger group as many visitors going to the BP will not know about the other venues. | davidosh
02/1/2024 12:27 | I think 95 for an adult and 70 for a child is fair value for 12 months unlimited use. I asked about charging entry and they said other piers have tried it and failed and reverted back to free admission. Its also a lot of hassle for fire regulations as well having turn stiles | thecroots
02/1/2024 03:41 | Why so much, more people would sign up if £50, and likely return more often generating ancillary spend. As I have stated before, a small charge to enter the pier would likely generate millions of pounds in the year, straight to the bottom line. If they could incorporate the other attractions, even better, but geographically the spread too wide throughout the U.K. | bookbroker
02/1/2024 01:14 | That is interesting... | thecroots
29/12/2023 19:51 | The PIER introducing an annual ride pass in 2024. 95 pounds a pass. Interesting to see if it drives more sales in H1 as people look to lock it in for the whole year. Also, the more they return for the rides the more ancillary income. Great idea I think. | dartboard1
29/12/2023 10:01 | Blimey. People paying 55p now when touch price is 52p | thecroots
28/12/2023 13:03 | Its still perky here... | thecroots |
