Has there been any news about the cash distribution?

A delisting will mean that any shares currently held in an ISA will have to be transferred outside of the ISA, so that your total ISA fund diminishes by that value (although you still keep that value outside of the ISA).

Thanks fillipe. I hadn't heard of the London South East site before. It looks useful. It seems that OPL have done a 1 for 25 consolidation as part of issuing the new certificates. That has no effect on the division of ownership between shareholders, of course - we all still get our proportionate share - it just reduced the number of shares whilst increasing the value of each 25-fold, so that the share price is more sensible.

mctmct, I don't normally ever mention London South East here, out of respect for ADVN.
However they do have a lot of posts on the subject of OPL on the ABA board there.
But I'm still not that much wiser and it speaks of a 1 x OPL for every 25 ABA/OXP.
I still have to speak with Barc's.

Thanks, I'll do that.
At present all I'm seeing is what appears to be a straight unchanged OXP holding, in terms of the number of shares, but now listed as ABA at pretty much the share price which correlates to a more or less unchanged OXP share price

But I'll looksee a bit more deeply and speak to Barc's.

Best,

Barclays are investigating. Speak to corporate actions team. The OPL FD tells me that share certificates were distributed at the end of December. Someone on the OXP thread reports receiving theirs.

Good luck!

Has anyone here received any OPL shares following the OXP demerger and name change?

OXP reorganised into a cash shell and a private company called Oxford Pharmascience Limited (OPL). It then announced that its shares in OPL would be distributed "in specie" to existing shareholders (presumably OXP shareholders). OXP then renamed itself Abaco Capital (with the EPIC ABA). ABA has subsequently failed to find a reverse takeover and has announced that it will return its cash to ABA shareholders.

But where are the OPL shares? Has anyone received them?

ABA.L is the new EPIC for the company formerly known as Oxford Pharmascience (OXP)

oh dear.......another crookney crookup! seems when you do get a winner, DTG for example, you more than hand it back on the rest of your picks - my advice is to go large and concentrate on fewer stocks, it doesn't eally matter if one of your myriad doubles if you never have more than 5 per cent of your dosh in it, does it?

2 x 500K trades - @ 74p Frauddy :-)

Look, you're obviously a guy in need of financial help - buy some GDWN - results brought forward a month to Dec 28th.

Have a look at the earnings growth for GDWN Frauddy

2003 = 25.5p, 2004 = 27p (+6%), 2005 = 35p (+30%), 2006 = 47p (+35%), 2007 = 65p (+38%).

40%+ earnings growth this year?

Why's the results date been brough forward a month? Won't be bad news imo, that gets delayed!

Don't say I haven't tried to help you despite your hostility to me I know you need my help and I'm big enough to give you that help.

i doubt if you have seen the bottom yet my friend......a few misguided gamblers do not change the fundamental lack of outlook of the business.....as you will see! the bright side is it will subsidise your losses on flk and that wallpaper outfit.......and many others i suspect

On the way up Frauddy - you're missing your chance I'm afraid.

£200m sales? mkt cap £33m.

What sort of margin do they need to get back to to be on a PE of 5 with all those sales.

Cry when you've missed it Frauddy.

Has anybody showing interest in this stock looked at what is happening on the high street. You can buy a branded product for the same price as an Alba product. Gone are the days when Alba could sell a product at a budget price by sourcing and importing from the far east, all the majors are now doing the same but with a brand name behind them also most of the main supermarket chains are doing the same and undercutting Alba. They were once the companies main route to retail sales. Also Alba do not sell them the products they give them on consignment.
I really cannot see how this company can return to profit basically who is going to buy a Goodmans TV for £399 when they can buy a Philips or Panasonic for the same nowdays.
A bit of simplistic view I know but isn't that what it really all boils down to. Basically a changing market and Alba have failed to change with it and frankly have left it a bit to late to start now.

but the forecast is still for a loss for the full year and no evidence of profitability the year after, so why buy now? best that can be said is that at this price it has a cap of just 30m - however debt is 24m so an enterprise value of 54m for a company estimated to lose 6m minimum in the full year, no div and no proven future......these metrics would have been 'cheap' six months ago, but you still have not adjusted to the bear market - only just beginning my friend - you will lose a lot of your lucky profits if you do not rethink your position............btw, have you ever experienced a bear market? i reckon you probably haven't been an investor long enough (last real bear maket was a very long time ago......how olong have you been active - i doubt more than 7-10 years?
