Because there is no timeline on the pipeline re-opening.

It wont be too long they claimed.

It is now a YEAR and counting.

Why is this so unloved?

I'm assuming it's because of where it is.

Is there any particular reason why? They put their statements out in the public domain don't they? What would emailing them or messaging them on x (twitter) achieve?

Thanks for the insight, which would broadly align to the expectations set by genel, expected in year, but ultimately could be longer.

The key factor in determining how long the arbitration ruling takes will be how busy the Chairman is. They are generally ex High Court judges making a good living out of IA and the best are in great demand. It is not unusual for the Chair (and sometimes the other members of the Tribunal) not to have read all the papers prior to the hearing. Expect a ruling in 3-6 months but don't be surprised if it takes up to 12.

Genel have stated they expect the arbitration to come back with a ruling in 2024, but will not make any statement until the ruling is made, I imagine following the 2 week hearing, those on the arbitration will now be deliberating and consulting specialists to determine the ruling and then if (hopefully) applicable suitable compensation. I have not been able to find out how long verdicts typically take to come back from international arbitrations, I expect it will vary by complexity of each case, one would assume Genel's is not too complex. As for the historic comments on this being a waste of time as the KRG will be unable or unwilling to pay. From what I have read, the enforcement of rulings is the main reason for the inclusion of international arbitrations in contracts. Should the losing party refuse or be unable to pay, I believe the owed party can progress for assets to be seized to cover the amount owed, providing the assets are held by in this case the KRG in any country that recognises international arbitration. For me that is quite a significant avenue for genel to realise value, albeit likely not immediately, should they receive a positive outcome. All in my opinion.Happy to be corrected on any of the above.

There was an RNS on 14th with the reserves update, you can see it on LSE just not ADVFN. The news symbol did show here on the day but nothing showing when going to the list. It does the same for GKP sometimes, very strange.
