Thats my plan - I used to be in SOHO a couple of years ago but swapped over to CSH as I couldnt auto invest in SOHO . The price difference now is opportunistic.

Seems like an opportune moment to sell CSH and buy SOHO?

Thanks for explaining. Less than perfect situation then. No doubt some have made short term profits @80p but a lot of small investors will be thinking it's low ball. I guess.

Cruella - they hold over 50%, so have control. They intend delisting CSH, which isn't helpful for holdouts. If they reach 90% they can make compulsory purchase of the remainder.

I accepted the 80p offer through the corporate action a few weeks ago but mine still haven't been sold, anyone's sale gone through this way?

I'm being a but dim here. Reading today's RNS 23rd June, is the bid successful?

Now I understand. Simply a matter of leaving the acceptances to the very last minute

Curious RNS today.

A few months ago funds weren't prepared to pay 60p for this, yet now they seem to think 80p isn't enough to sell at.

Was looking at IL44 the other day Tempting to buy some for the SIP; as an investment if the trade doesn't work

Saltaire, I think the lows on linkers are almost in. Long linkers/Short nominals is a trade.

This would be in the 40s today without the bid

@chucko1 - Have you seen what’s happened to gilt prices recently? Capital destruction on a MASSIVE scale!

My ex-girlfriend's uncle who works for big city office firm told me the Chinese will run away from the bid and this is heading to 10p.

He knows stuff unlike you plebs

One thing I've learned over the years - from dismissing corporate governance as a time wasting box ticking exercise to realising how important it is, and how almost every short research piece starts out by picking up poor governance/conflicts

I'm not sure fixed income is much less reliable than care home REITs!

I’m really disappointed by what’s happened here.

They have a great business, which has been badly impacted by some poor decision making at board level (and a bit of greed in their too?) which gave a bunch of sharks an opportunity to short the business for a killing.

Thanks to their efforts, an even bigger shark is now coming in with a cut-price buy-out.

The core business throws off a lot of cash and that’s useful as an alternative to fixed income where life is unpredictable.

Really annoying.

Well done holders, didn't see this coming, & wasn't holding at the time.

121p 2 year high, and 80p is some way below NAV (111p?), but doubtless anyone who bought in below 80p is delighted.

After what has happened with HOME, this is surely a result, and the focus moves on to SOHO - whose share buybacks suggest no bid as yet.

I recommended buying on 10/02/2023, so not a bad 3 month return.

21:24 Cost of adapting properties for special needs can be prohibitive, so creates a barrier to entry. I just adapted a house for a disabled relative, cost an eye watering amount, when you add all the other features fire regs etc, I don,t think appreciated by market. CSH have just given a good update on credit rating A, some footsie 100 companies only have a B rating. Add in only 3% drop in NAV latest quarter, vs Commercial REIT's up to 20% drop, so a buy in my opinion.

Following up on the suggestion of DG19, I wouldn't. The category of properties that this co is buying is red hot currently, so likely they are overpaying, or at least the market reckons the nav unstable. I'd be inclined to recycle into SOHO or such,
