Share sale not the most positive news here. Always looked at this but never pulled the trigger

I think the CTO has done a good deal for her first purchase of shares. I dithered about buying more first thing but was too late.

One off IT costs / performance fees are just noise at the end of the day . AUME gone from 87.7 billion to 101.3 with a month remaining of the financial year . May end up with close to 20% growth in the core business before all the new projects have even contributed . This is a business that can pay out an 8% yield whilst growing quickly trading almost at a single digit multiple , adjusting for cash

You are right konradpuss as I overlooked that they earned £3.5m in performance fees during Q3.
Well done to those who bought first thing.

I desperately tried to add to my holding this morning on the drop but then realised I didn't have enough funds as I have too many orders in place. By the time I deleted one of them the price was back up.
I've got a buy order in just in case there's another momentarily dip

At least they realised it wasn't worth it at an earlyish stage rather than some companies I could name. Short-sighted dip so bought some back.

Currently, they have earned £5.0 million of performance fees in the first three quarters.

They might yet surpass last year.

Which company has not blown money on I.T.

Congrats on the US100m plus on AUM.
I note that revenue this current FY will flatline over last year reflecting both the stronger pound and I assume we will not repeat the £5.8m in performance fees.
The £2.4m IT hit a bore but works out at 1.2p a share.
I have enough but for those with little or no exposure worth a look at these prices.

Picked a few more in the auction on Friday.
Record has some spectacular metrics to be capitalised on.

In March 22 NR transferred 2m shares to his charitable trust and a further 1.75m announced 16 March 23 and it was said that over longer term the trust will sell shares in a series of orderly tranches in consultation with Record plc's broker to provide scholarship funds. The financials for The Record Charitable Trust to 5 April 23 are available at register of charities charity commission . Gov. Uk

Thanks konradpuss, he seems to be reducing 1pc a year. Good that you reminded us that as of last March Leslie Hill had 8.23pc

Cerrito, he has made a small disposal a while back to fund some bursaries. Other than that my personal view he will hold all or sell all as will Lesley.

A small up tick today.

I wonder if the I.C. has written the company up online today?

If you model the multiproduct at Q2 levels & margin for all of Q3 you get to £45.6m so easy to see £45m of revenue + any Q4 performance fees (none in Q4 last year).

I'm currently looking at £44.5m of revenue for FY24 (with no performance fees in Q4) compared to Edison's £43.4m. I'm conservative on the modelling of the $4bn transfer of funds from multi product to passive in Q3 so it may be a bit higher.

Agreed. There seem to be so many attratively priced stocks in the UK so it is hard to know which ones to own .. Even if you just look across the small pool of UK asset managers you are spoilt for choice.
I have 5% of my portfolio in REC. For me that is about right, but if I see serious weakness here, say the stock gets quoted at 60p, then I would consider buying more, if I could sell part of another holding that is trading anywhere near where I think it is worth!

Robsy, I think it has been overlooked of late like many other U.K. smaller cap. stocks. I wonder when the analyst at Panmure will upgrade due to the extra performance fees earned?

They must have been v pleased with easily breaking their record in AUM and perhaps frustrated in not breaking the 100bn in US terms and their AUM measured in sterling a comfortable record.I note that the higher margin Dynamic Hedging was also at a record and we had the £3.5m in performance fees.
Why is the market yawning??
The dominance of lower margin passive hedging?? A lot of this quarter's good results due to the volatile FX rate movements?? Concerned about diversification??
I am trying to explain my reluctance to push through buy button.

Yes,good stuff.

The performance fees are getting more regular;

Performance fees FY2022 0.5m GBP
Performance fees FY2023 5.8m GBP
Performance fees FY2024 5.0m GBP (with Q4 to come)

Full year dividend of 4.96p looks safe enough.

Good number this morning with a £3.5 million performance fee as well.

The market has had a hangover for Record in the past few days. The sellers should not look at the RNS!

It would be good to get that infrastructure fund launched - not sure about the Crypto one. I am in the late Charlie Munger camp on that 'asset' class.
