UK natural gas futures rose to over 82 pence a therm, experiencing an 8% increase for the week in line with the upward trend of the European benchmark. Following a strike by Israel on Iran, fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East have emerged. Israel's limited military operation is currently under evaluation for its effectiveness and repercussions. The strike, which occurred early Friday morning local time, resulted in explosions near Isfahan airport and disruptions to flights at Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz airports. Despite conflicting reports, Iran's armed forces have stated that nuclear facilities in Isfahan province remain secure. The global gas market is also on the rise due to increased demand from Japan, supply disruptions in the US, and pipeline challenges in Norway.

Utilities are always a safe go to stock, regardless of what goes on the wheels of industry still turn as shown during Covid, inflation, war in Europe etc.

Yes, I tend to agree with that, considering the hedging deal was only announced in February and we really need Q2 and onward for it to bed in and start to show through.
As the cash we know is already going crackers, one can only imagine how that might look come September time and what sort of decision they arrive at re a special/buyback all intimated in the company handbook.

Yes I think. It will deffo do 30 may come quicker than some may think depending on the update in May

Or possibly with the half year results.

I think you're right insofar as all the recent news has stuck a rocket up it!I know people have been in this much longer than me but I'm almost 2 bagging a large amount. Prudence says trim some... the gut feel is this could hit £30 this year or possibly more

I know what you mean, but this company is just starting to fire on all cylinders now I feel. I agree with others who say let's see the impact of the new hedging deal and all the extra dual engineer vacancies filled etc for an idea of what they can really do now the shackles are off.
Shell did 12 months dd and wanted a stake after that - tells me 2024 could be quite something with the complacent big 6 sitting there ripe for the taking with the new digital platform cranking up. BK's description was 'a game-changer'.

Another cheeky little 5k purchase @ £19 for our mystery hoover buyer today. They don't mind what price the sellers give them up for with the company guiding conservatively towards 50% growth this year.
Ooh, I'm RamPinG aGaIN.

It's complicated as you say, and any further ramping up may not see the other neighbouring nations again come to the aid of Israel as they did last weekend.

I agree 100% and was surprised by the article.I am not fan of either, but any weakness by either side would be exploited. The politics in the region is more than just Israel as the Sunni sect will not like Iran flexing its muscles one bit, because they would be next.

Anyone thinking Israel has backed down is misinformed. Most commentators expect a response and probably a direct one on Iran at that.It may not happen for a week or so or could happen as soon as all allies have exhausted asking for restraint

Agreed - not with the upcoming dividend and new ISA allowances etc.
Developments also after July 3rd would be anticipated with the High Court clearance for the Company to act more on their own initiative re buybacks/special/premium acc. Can't therefore envisage much selling in the near future.

SparkyDon't think you actually understand what trading is all about do you?.You childishly say:"People next door going to look very silly yet again"How will I look silly exactly?, I've no position at the moment, as I've posted this has zero direction at the moment and Im happy to wait for the next update - be it long or short. On a SB I'd get the dividend if long anyway, and quicker too!.
