Got a nice profit with the 26.65p dividend on top, I think may sell a few above 490p and put into Bats, just feel more chance of shareprice growth, with a high dividend. But will only sell 25% of my Phoenix shares.

Berenberg: Reasons for optimism at Phoenix
Prudent cash estimates are driving confidence in Phoenix Group says Berenberg.

Analyst Thomas Bateman retained his ‘buy’ recommendation but cut the target price from 739p to 650p on the stock, which gained 1.3% to 487p on Monday. The group set out a ‘clear new financial framework’, alongside its 2023 results, which Bateman said is ‘designed to address investor concerns on leverage’ and lays out the long-term strategy plan. He said the plans ‘highlight a business that is growing, rather than one that is in run-off’, while an update with chief financial officer Rakesh Thakrar confirmed it has ‘sufficient capital to de-lever and allocate to growth opportunities’. Thakar pointed out the group has a history of beating its targets, particularly on cash generation, and the ‘capital strain from writing annuity business has fallen’. It has also moved to ‘a progressive dividend policy and expects operating cash generation to grow at a mid-single-digit rate over the long term.’ Bateman said that ‘this change in policy highlights the board’s confidence in the company’s future prospects’.

Looks like at least another intrastate high for FTSE today. Good to see some realistic value appreciation, but also happy the PHNX and others still languish at lower range. LGEN in ex divi this week pushing it back again to 230-40 range. Hard to believe … Divi pay days coming .. !!

All time Closing high on the ftse100 index today. Suspect it will be very long time until we see Phoenix and other Fund Managers ⁿdo same. Not that I'm complaining. I love high yielders.

I pick up on anything that looks interesting on any thread, because I cannot find time to investigate every company in the UK market for information!

Why are you posting about the DIVI thread? This is the PHNX thread!

You see how we can trip ourselves up by over-specifying things.

Really IMO this thread is primarily about PHNX but also serendipitously similar shares/boards that a PHNX holder might be interested in, when treated in a secondary manner to PHNX OF course.

Thus having redefined what this thread is about, it turns out folks were all on-topic after all ;0)

Aleman: I can understand your reluctance to wade through many, many posts on the PHNX thread that may not be directly discussing PHNX.

So skim read them. Pick out the one's you find of interest.

I however really find the mention of shares I would not otherwise encounter very helpful. Only this weekend I made note (on post-it notes - I know, old style) of AA4, CLIG, LIO, AEWU, HFEL, GABI, ITH, SQZ and CSN. I have been checking each out as I find time.

LGEN, ABDN, Aviva etc. are all related in style to PHNX so those are always worth mentioning and comparing.

At least this thread is sensible and practically all posts worth the read.

I like your choice of colour though - makes your posts stand out.

So you want tips for for high yield shares where other posters looking for similar investments are already posting about the same but you don't want to go to the thread where they already do that because you've never been there before? The DIVI thread has various links to dividend related data, too.

I found this share by having it mentioned on another thread.
The posts this weekend about other hi-yielders were really useful.
Moreso as it was a weekend I could update my monitor with new shares to track - once the market is open during
the week , advfn wants to keep shutting me out...
Also if those posters are already posting on here they are actually likely looking for the same - I do note the correction to someone's post above that Vod dividend has already been cut - I was already aware of that , but there is some more credibility when you can see fellow posters on a thread you read , sense checking the ideas.

So in short - posting tickers of relevant similar shares - on here , rather than another thread I do not read, with posters I know nothing about , is often really useful and in my mind exactly what these threads are for.
