I've decided to take the cash now. Markets are very volatile so thought I would crystallise the gain here. 98% likely to complete, but you never know!

It won't complete until Q4, so its not going to get to £12 until we get closer to that date (and a competing bid is highly unlikely). I will probably just wait until Q4 on this one as I don't currently need the cash. Not worth losing c50p. It's a bit disappointing that there is no final dividend. That's my only disappointment on the deal. You would have thought that they could have negotiated a dividend whilst we wait, particularly given inflation for 6m eating away at the £12! Mustn't grumble though - its a good overall result.

See Harpin and his wife collect c£0.5bn before tax - not a bad life's work and he keeps his job and no doubt will be incentivised again. Well done to him!

Yes, good news in the current market. A 5-bagger for me over the last decade, so a good result. Not a company I wanted to exit, but the market is dreadful at present so extra cash to invest is welcome.

I wouldn't say so. I think the long term price target (5 years) for HSV is about £15. and turning down an offer can result in a immediate share price climb (When I Unilever turned down the Heinz Kraft offer the shares went up 10%, and that's on a company with a 100B market cap, which pleased me quite a bit)

CEO and board will not be forgiven if they turn down the offer and will be confronted at the AGM.

I don't know if I did well selling my holding for a 20pc profit. There is a risk (alolthough low) that the acquisition doesn't fall through. One bird in the hand is better than 2 in the forest. I am keeping a close eye on the developments though. We might see some weakness but most likely the offer will be accepted at £12 per share.
