Hi gavapentin, the potential for some fat returns perhaps...

19 October 2010

PHOSPHAGENICS ON TRACK TO COMMERCIALISE ANTI-FAT PEPTIDE USING TPM TECHNOLOGY
Focus group studies to start this year
Potential US$3 billion global market
Cosmeceutical product sales expected early 2011
Phosphagenics Limited (ASX: POH) has today signed a licensing deal with Calzada Limited (ASX: CZD), formerly Metabolic Pharmaceuticals, to launch a cosmeceutical product containing Calzada's anti-obesity peptide known as AOD9604 in combination with the TPMĀ™ delivery technology.

The August 2010 Southern Cross Phosphagenics Report goes into some detail on the above.

Re pain drugs...

Just two years after swallowing up Alpharma in a $1.6 billion takeover, King Pharmaceuticals is handing over the keys to Pfizer after signing off on a $3.6 billion buyout offer.

Pfizer agreed to pay $14.25 a share for King, a 40 percent premium on its Monday close. Proving that he still has a hefty appetite for new acquisitions, Pfizer CEO Jeffrey Kindler made clear that much of the value of this deal is related to King's pipeline of pain drugs.

Yes, it's always a long wait with the bios. I'm still fondly imagining that this one will come good before we get diluted to death, get bought out on the cheap or just go plain bust.

Many compounds are not orally active in that they're either acid unstable in the stomach or broken down by enzymes in the gut.All geneticaly engineered therapeutic proteins are inactive orally due to instability in the gut.Phosphorylated compounds are able to cross cell barriers and it seems that this route is quite a breakthrough.
For this reason I've held on to my small holding and will add when news of new applications reach the market.

Don't know if this board is inhabited any more.I only had a small investment here intending to add with positive news flow as I liked the technology.Anyway I kept them and noticed they're up 150% this year.

There are a number of threads on PSG (POH on ASX) on an Australian Investment Network at Worth a look to read other opinions (from an Australian Investors point of view)about this company and it's free to sign up.

Can anyone tell me the best way to trade these shares from here in the UK? Recommend a broker perhaps.

- Try going in via the ASX (australian stock exchange) website & search for their acronym 'POH' (the ASX equivalent of the PSG here). The anouncement is given there
- The website is not being very actively maintained. I queried it & understand Mary Mcswiggan, who looks after it, is on maternity leave. Understandably I think, given the size of the staff, the website has not been a priority.
- That said, I am registered for email news updates (which you regiser for via the website) & received one this morning.

I assume this tie-up is the one flagged in the AGM address (also available on the ASX website).

Good Luck

Nice rise today, my holding in PSG is still in my TD Waterhouse statement but listed on Aussie exchange. I did not have to do anything they transferred it automatically, have not tried to trade it mind you.

o/sclothes I take your point and quite happy that somebody gets a further chunk at whatever price it takes to keep them going. However :-
- Phospha results were originally Q1, then Q1 or early Q2 (still, ironically, in the recent filing) - as we move into June. Does not bode well.
- Insulin a long term project
- The 2008 turn to quicker return projects (about time, you might think) will still take time to mature - nothing past stage 1 so their negotiating hand is very weak.

Conversion of the options at 20p would be ideal, but they were really only there to provide a profit taking opportunity, assuming the share price had gone better, and difficult to see they could be exercised.

Fall back therefore, as you suggest, on some form of agreement, whose terms will undoubtedly be stiff.

Some published update on the occasion of the AGM would be agreeable, but their communications have always been intermittent at best (they are only a very small band of people, of course) so not holding breath.

Ladybird - depends on what way they partner. Good clinicals could entice a big Pharma into a good funding deal which would accelerate development / revenue generation.
The shareprice has drifted, but the next newsflow could push it upwards towards 20c again. Do remember that it left AIM @ 2.125p

serratia I think I used a wrong term. I just meant the listing you get for recent posts in time order by presing 'Free BB'. I clicked it last night just after a post to PSG, which of course I was surprised to see.

Ladybird,

I've often wondered where you find a list of boards. How do you access the master list ?

I hadn't realised this thread was still live till I scanned the 'master list' last night.

Took ages for my paper 'certificate' to come through. Apparently the ASX 'sometimes takes months'. May be some comfort.

Reading the pre AGM filing, rather depressing. Even if PhosphaE Phase 2 results good (seemingly drifting ever back), clearly won't start generating revenue for some time. It must, in practice, be years rather than months before they could be commercially viable. They will certainly need further cash raising; presumably, even more so than last time, at a steep discount to market price.

Perhaps someone will take them out at some point.

Hoodless Brennan working perfectly on this. Have been able to trade, if I'd wanted to, for months, though the time difference means you usually have to leave a "limit order".

I don't think even Selftrade would have sent my ISHS to your wife's old address, but I guess it's worth asking!

It's called an "Issuer Sponsored Holding Statement" but yep, as I understand it this is the evidence of my holding / share cert substitute. I've actually had it for a few weeks, so you might want to have a few words with Selftrade!

Is this a share certificate type thing you've received? I've heard nothing since I returned the form to Self trade.

Would be interested to know the results of your check! I've just had a look at the TDW site and it's now saying they do in fact handle dealing on ASX...
I think I need to have words with these people.
