I'm sure Skinny would have responded but he's probably just quality testing the Pig - I fear the beef bourguignon meal might not materialise. spud

On a day that started out looking ominous-with potential for Middle East induced stock market volatility-it was actually a pretty reassuring close to the day finishing almost unmoved.

Let's hope that all the sabres have now been rattled and both sides can claim their victory and we can get back to a bit more "normality".

A 14.63p XD to "look forward" to next Thursday for LGEN.

I can live with a quiet, boring, week!

Time to crack open that bottle of whatever your chosen poison is and enjoy the weekend :-)

LGEN, PHNX and MNG will stay down until treasury yields and interest rates fall, and with the Market seemingly now taking a "we'll believe it when we see it" stance, it's a case of having the patience of a saint and hanging on until it happens.

In today's Mail SAGA has had a wonderful result in their travel sector but a woeful time in the insurance side.

Perhaps there's concern LGEN has similar problems.

Does LGEN need to do an AV. and break up a bit and divest a bit? big lumbering behemoth, is it too complicated now? share price for a cracking company like this has been woeful for far too long now.

"Legal & General’s (LSE: LGEN) share price has fallen around 5% from its 12-month 31 January high.

The price trend has broadly tracked that of the FTSE 100 in which it trades. But it now looks even more of a bargain to me than it did before.

How undervalued does it look?
On the key price-to-book (P/B) measurement of stock value, it currently trades at just 3. This compares to a peer group average of 3.5, so it’s cheap on that basis.

It also looks cheap at its price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of just 1.2, against a competitor average of 1.5.

But how cheap exactly? A discounted cash flow analysis using several analysts’ figures and my own reveals it to be around 59% undervalued at the current price of £2.44.

Therefore, a fair value would be around £5.95, although this doesn’t guarantee it will ever reach that price"

The market "should" know the Israel/Iran rocket thing is, for the markets, a damp squid in that Iran has not fired any more
and the USA says "NO" and thus Israel cannot do a great deal by itself.

So "if" that is the reason for LGENs fall today it should rally soon - touchwood!

Had left a very hopeful bid in that area but events today have conspired against me

But was to be expected due to state of the markets and all that

Still a few months until dividend paid so until it happens will hide my time

Dividend return covers a multitude of any misgivings I harbour

Throwing some of my very basic maths at it, the 14.63p is almost 6% of the current share price. Reckoning you'd have to get over 7% more from pre ex divi sale compared to when you buy after, to make it worth your while. So round about 232 or below (at 250). This appeals to me, especially as my average is currently 250.
