For pedestrian detection, Euro NCAP tests three accident scenarios in which the pedestrian crosses directly in front of the path of the test vehicle, one in which the pedestrian is walking in the same direction as the vehicle, one in which the pedestrian is crossing a road into which the test car is turning and one where a pedestrian is behind the reversing car. Agreed. Looking at last year's Annual Report for the 2022's Year End (YE) results, I se that Crowe Clark were the previous auditors and have been for the past 6 years. Given that year end is 31st August historically results were always produced in a timely manner originally around November, so 2 months to audit.
That means the new Auditors Grant Thornton have been on the case for nearly 5 month. So that either reflects badly on them or there is something else.

They said "prior to the end of January 2024"
Next week would be pushing it a bit IMO.
