The company has not ceased trading - It has delisted and will trade privately from now on. If an investor has shares and the company does amazing things then their shares have greater value and can be sold to another interested party or indeed sold if the company is sold on to another

Content Film is an example - did nothing on AIM market but as soon as they went private things started to move in the direction

May be people as you said willing to take the gamble and see what happens in the future, as for trading, the statement from directors states clearly you won't be able to buy or sell after today.

What is going on here? Today is the last dealing day before official de-listing tomorrow. Yet the shares happily trade on! Are people hoping that in its de-listed form, the company will do great things?

It is not even dual quoted on ASX or TSX so trading really will die out.

Am I being stupid and missing something?

Sad really AIM madness again, a few great companies no volume what so ever and then the dogs get the headline pumps and poor junior investors get bummed.

They have already passed being delisted at GM last trading day tomorrow who bought today will be toast. Don't people read rns!

Liquidity extremely poor here.And No rns yet.Only a small quantity of shares traded, the order book is very thin.A "no reason for rise" rns very soon as the pumpers exit. Or a newsworthy rns. Either way the company must release an rns, or they are condoning the pumping of their stock.Take a look at GWMO, drilling happening very soon.

A quick stab at some possible outcomes.

1, The drilling campaign is going to be announced with the date of the first spud.

2, CNOOC have decided not to start a drill campaign because of the current oil price and are looking to pay a penalty payment to UMC for pulling out.

3, CNOOC are going to do a buyout of UMC and then that will give them more room to maneuver on the licences. Abet the PNG government would have set a maximum time limit for proving up the licenses.

A any of them should get the share price moving in the right direction....I hope.

I wonder if CNOOC are taking them out. If they believe in the acreage, as I do and as they have said in the past, it would be a very cheap way of upping their interest. Screamingly cheap in fact.

It breaks my heart how many appallingly mispriced oil stocks there are at present. In most cases, no rectification is likely in the foreseeable future and they can't borrow or raise the small sums to demonstrate the value. So many of them will die or get bought out for a fraction of their intrinsic worth.

If CNOOC is about to pounce on UEP, it's hardly great news for we holders who think the shares are worth so much more. :-( Still, I suppose it gives us an exit.

Well there is something fundamental behind this move, yesterday it was up 180% at one point and there was no ramping anywhere and only a few posts on some other sites after the big move. The tie in with cnooc is big for such a small minnow like UMC and very surprised that its been trading on such a low market cap before now, especially when cnooc needs to confirm its spud targets and work plan.
