I didn't pursue the action above as I decided not to sell Blinkx shares, which profit I had anticpated setting off against losses here. (Those of you who know Blinkx know the kick in the gut it is to say that).

Now however I have correspondence from the liquidators asking me to complete a proof of debt form. I know there will be no distribution to shareholders, but my question is does the form have any relevance to shareholders? Surely they have a shareholders register with this information? Can I just ignore the form or do I need to make some kind of claim in order to write my shares off? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Polythene - in a similar situation I asked the administrator for the date when the shares had no value. The date given was good enough for the Inland Revenue. As I understand the situation the administrator has no obligation to tell shareholders so you have to ask him.

If you find out would you please post details on this BB.

Thanks.

When can I write this off as a capital loss? Do I have to wait for the company to delist. Ideally I need to this during this calendar year.

Risk1, this stung me for £3K, well annoyed about the pre-close statement misrepresenting the actual situation of the company. At least I will be able to write this off against the CGT.

Serves you right for investing in a dog risk1... at least it was only 800.. You can recover by investing in BAO!

Does anyone know the tax year when we can write this off against CGT gains elsewhere? Is it today - the date it went into administration - or a later date when we are told that there is no money left? Thanks in advance.

Newspaper circulation remained stable until late October, but, like the whole
industry, was adversely effected in the last two months of the period, largely
as a consequence of the poor weather conditions which impacted on the delivery
capabilities, particularly in Scotland.

No mention of sales returning to previous levels.

I put the order in right after the shares moved down yesterday. I do not understand why they were priced at this level either, but very happy with that purhcase price.
