'Waterlogic Confident As Profit Up, Continuing Potential Sale Review

LONDON (Alliance News) - Waterlogic PLC said Monday that it is still reviewing a potential sale of its business, and expressed confidence for further progress as it saw profit rise in the half-year to the end of June.

The water dispensing technology company began a strategic review in June following an unsolicited approach from a third party to potentially acquire one of its subsidiaries, including a potential sale of the entire company. Waterlogic said Monday that it was continuing to conduct this review and will make a further announcement in due course.

The company posted a pretax profit of USD708,000, up from USD310,000, as revenue rose to USD68.3 million from USD54.6 million, although this was offset by higher operating costs, and a GBP2.0 million in finance costs, said the company.

Revenue growth was boosted by the integration of its acquisition Cool Clear Water Group Ltd, new clients in Germany, France, Scandinavia and the US, and continued focus on rental contracts and recurring revenue.

In Waterlogic's commercial division, the company increased the number of machines in field to 785,000 from 715,000 and added new distributors in Hungary and Poland. '

old but gives a flavour of what to expect in 2014 imo

'Stockbroker N+1 Singer initiated coverage on the stock on 22 April with a 235p price target. It says the share price should re-rate to a higher level as growth expectations for 2013 and 2014 ‘materialise’. It comments: ‘Waterlogic has the hallmarks of a high growth company but with the revenue model that ensures predictable and ongoing income.’

N+1 Singer claims that point-of-use water solutions can be more than 3.5 times cheaper than bottled water alternatives and says the market is moving away from the latter model. ‘The growth of the POU market has been fuelled by the success of Waterlogic; over this period the company’s install(ed) base increase at a compound annual growth rate of 20%, compares to the total market which grew by 16%. We believe the trend presents a “land grab” opportunity for POU companies, especially Waterlogic given its market leading position.’

Unlikely. They're in the middle of a sale process so brokers won't comment.

Broker Forecasts:

Waterlogic upgraded by Liberum

07th April 2014, 10:58

Liberum Capital has upgraded its recommendation on Waterlogic [LON:WTL] to 'buy' from 'hold' after today's full-year results highlighted a 2 per cent earnings per share beat and on the back of the recent share price underperformance.

The broker reckons the results go some way to demonstrate the progress made by the water cooler distributor in both its Commercial and Consumer divisions and also noted that the company has made a decent start to 2014.

"A period of forecast delivery and notable share price underperformance prompts us to upgrade to BUY," analysts said in a note to investors.

"Waterlogic trades at a notable discount to peers."

The shares are down 14 per cent in the last three months and are down 30 per cent over the past six months.

Waterlogic looking ahead to 'a year of growth' across all divisions

Jeremy Ben-David, chief executive of Waterlogic (LON:WTL), tells Proactiveinvestors that 2013 has been a year of both organic and acquisitive growth and anticipates that this year will continue to see more of the same across all divisions. Jeremy says that the Australian business is now fully integrated and thel benefits, which were deferred from last year, will be included in the first set of accounts produced in this fiscal year's accounts

That's interesting Simon - a good find. One would have thought this was pretty material to WTL and should have been RNS'd?

They'll presumably have to make a provision for it in the forthcoming results, which may cause a warning against expectations.

Another reason for me to remain on the sidelines here.

Waterlogic Recalls About 48,000 Water Cooling and Heating Systems Due to Fire Hazard

September 19, 2013

There have been several product recalls this year involving fire hazards. Sometimes products meant to control temperature or humidity can be manufactured in a way that makes them potentially dangerous. For instance, Gree recalled more than two million dehumidifiers last week after approximately $2.15 million worth of property damage was reported by consumers. According to the CPSC, the dehumidifiers could overheat and catch fire. Now, another product is being recalled due to overheating. Waterlogic is currently recalling approximately 48,000 water cooling and heating systems due to the risk of a fire.

The CPSC reports that "the hot water tank [in the water systems] can stop functioning and cause the machine to overheat, posing a fire hazard." The company has received 16 reports of the water dispensers producing fire and smoke. However, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage.

The recalled water systems provide hot and cold water to consumers at home and at work. The units were manufactured in the colors white, black and stainless steel, and are 18, 40 or 48 inches tall. Additionally, the units are labeled with one of the following brands: "AquaMark, Coolersmart, Culligan, Innowave, Waterlogic and Xstream Water," according to the CPSC. Waterlogic provides a search engine for the serial numbers of all affected models on its website.

The recalled water systems were sold through distributors and dealers that sold water and coffee systems from January 2005 through December 2008. The water systems were priced from $500 to $1500 for dealers to lease to consumers. Distributors of the affected models will be contacted by Waterlogic and provided a list of the affected models as well as instructions and supplies to repair the units. Consumers can contact Waterlogic at 855-905-2002 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT weekdays for more information about the recall.

Waterlogic tapping a huge market
By Ian Lyall

The market can be an unforgiving place when expectations are dashed – though often the punishment can be disproportionate to the crime.
For investors, this presents an opportunity; a chance to get into a growth stock well below its real valuation.
Waterlogic (LON:WTL), the maker, installer and vendor of mains-fed water coolers, has felt first-hand the wrath of investors.

Waterlogic eyeing developing markets with new technology

Waterlogic (LON:WTL) is the leader in the "point of use" water cooler market, with a technology that is set to replace the old business model of chunky water bottles delivered by a man in a van. It is probably the only vertically integrated operator in the water cooler business, manufacturing its products in its fully-owned plant in China and then selling the product to its subsidiaries or distributors round the world, but predominantly (80%) Europe and the USA. Developing markets are set to become a major target following the development of the company's Firewall technology, which uses ultra-violet technology to purify at the point at which the water is dispensed.

Thanks for that JFT. Am not invested here but this is definitely on my one to watch list. Might wait for the next trading update before committing, need to see confirmation that the future growth forecasts can be met.
