Over the past few days, the world’s copper traders and executives descended on Santiago for the annual Cesco Week gathering. The main debate: Is this the beginning of the big bull market everyone has been waiting for?

Prices touched a 22-month high of $9,739 a metric ton on Thursday, up 13% since the start of the year.

Nick Snowdon, the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. strategist who has carved out a place for himself as the market’s most bullish voice, argued copper’s latest developments are only “the foothills of what will be its Everest.” He forecasts prices will average an astonishing $15,000 per ton next year.

Not everyone agrees.....

For those interested in Cu. Should be pretty much everyone reading this text! The first part only (introduction) is of some interest and there are some points when discussing the different companies that are also of lesser interest. CAML is NOT mentioned.

A nice share price increase here over the last month. I didn't expect the rise to be so quick and steep...

Actually it was the worst quarter at Kounrad for two years and the worst quarter at SASA since they bought it. There are, however, reasons for the underperformance.
Winter weather at Kounrad and the disruption resulting from the conversion to paste fill mining at SASA.

Q2 should be particularly interesting.

Copper Miners Glimpse the Future They’ve Long Seen Coming

A sudden supply drop and gathering confidence in an economic recovery have sent prices soaring.

^ Reassuring to hear from the horse's mouth. Let's see what they come up with. Would be magic to also find something by themselves in Kaz.

The phantom downticker - they've infested the AAZ BBs for about a year. Literally every post - and they add up to thousands - downvoted by an Incel loser. Never a day goes by without them appearing. What a waste of life. I genuinely feel sorry for them. Maybe they're Incel-adjacent, being an attention seeker, getting off from the attention when someone notices them.

Email back from the company;

Both investments in CAML X and Aberdeen are designed to build a pipeline for the future but I can assure you that the team are still very active in looking for a bigger transformational project along the lines of Sasa.

Exploring multiple (potentially) high quality options has got to be a sensible strategy.

To be fair the Scottish investment doesn't make sense full stop! But it's a tiny amount of speculation money. I'm sure they're looking for something closer to production, of a higher value, as well.

Not sure I like the idea of a bidding war for any asset. Always better to buy from a distressed seller in tough times, for a lower price. This touted copper bull run is both positive and negative.

Count - If they are then the Scottish investment doesn't make any sense really.

Caml is really starting to gain momentum now, I started buying this in June last year from £2 down to £1.60 mark. Happy from a heavy loss to now in profit. I can’t see any reason why this company can’t make new highs, it’s one of the best well run companies, yes they are cautious and don’t like to gamble with their money, which is why I can sleep at night. Here’s to breaking £2.10 then no resistance till £2.50.

If you can't get past the firewall, just search for:

Traders bet on supply squeeze pushing up copper prices

If it doesn't work the first time, then try a different browser.

Worked for me in Chrome, then I tried Safari too.

Great new word... contango! Biggest ever in 2 decades.
