Despite all the comments on this thread over the last couple of years, this has turned into an excellent investment. PEG soared to over 25p yesterday (sold all mine) and have these convertible 7% stock in for nothing now.

Well done solarno for keeping the faith....

Thats all folks!!

Appears that they are in the background mopping up loose stock from sellers like me.

Probably have some inkling about the future of Petards and can see a good profit as did a previous poster

There you are something positive from TILTON ..that your maths are correct.

With Tiltons clear assessment he must be a seller otherwise he does not believe what he says ! sorry mate but that is the message coming from your posting

mypension,

Nothing wrong with your math, but try and put it into practice and you might find yourself a little light.

Firstly you are making an assumption that the loan note will pay out it's coupon every year, let alone pay the principal back in five years. In the meantime it will not be listed, so the only access to the cash would be to convert into PEG shares and sell.

My main concern however is in the ability of the directors to turn this nice little business into a company of substance. Have a look at the graph of both companies over the past five years, and it does not fill you with a great deal of confidence.

So, nothing wrong with your assumptions, the question is do you believe the company can thrive under this management team?

Thinking about it a bit more the worst case scenario is PEG going but and I don't get the £2000 loan notes paid.

I will let TILTON answer that otherwise he may accuse me of something !

Let me see if my understanding is correct:
I buy 100000 WTH at a cost of say £2300. For that I get:
a) 12500 shares in PEG which at today's price is 11.45P x 12500 = £ 1431
b) £2000 worth of loan notes. That's £3431!!!
Not only that I will get £140 for 5 years after which I can get my £2000 back.
If I convert I will get 25000 shares (at 8p) so more profit if the share price is still 11p after 5 years.
Have I misunderstood???

interesting how the £500k has been completely ignored adds a bit to the asset value

The unaccounted £500k will come in handy

Given the incestuous links between the two companies, and the reliance on WTH funds for the survival of PEG, I see little alternative.

When in a hole, stop digging!
