I have no position but did make a few £ the last time I traded them (bought first thing on the 20/05 and closed two days later on a tight stop loss) - lot of short positions open which makes them interesting to me.

LONDON (AFX) - Weston Medical Group PLC said it is on track to scale-up production of its Intraject technology to commercial volumes by the end of 2002. WMG - WestonMedical

The drug delivery company added this will enable it to start filling licensee pipelines with Intraject devices in 2003 in preparation for product launch thereafter.

Although its prime focus is the needlefree subcutaneous delivery of liquid therapeutic proteins, there is an increasing opportunity for the company to deliver vaccines using the Intraject intradermal system, it added.

Weston Medical Group is tomorrow hosting a manufacturing site visit and technical update for analysts at Patheon UK in Swindon.

Commenting on the objectives of the day, CEO Christopher Samler said: "Our aim is to demonstrate that we are very much on track with our commercialisation objectives for Intraject and that we have a strong R&D capability focused on expanding the market for Intraject. In particular, we are very encouraged by our Intraject intradermal technology."

Weston Medical's commercial strategy is to license Intraject to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for specific drugs.

The company's lead technology platform is Intraject, a proprietary pre-filled and disposable needlefree drug delivery system for liquid medicines, including vaccines.
