When VPC bought Wham Energy I accepted some deferred shares which would convert into VPC shares subject to finding oil/gas in Wham's fields.

Does anybody else have these? And have you been informed as to how the takeover has affected them? I would believe that Centrica has taken over the responsibility to 'pay out' on these shares - they can't just ignore them.

Anybody else got them and know anything?

A snippet from Endeavour's 3Q09 report:

"Two wells are planned for the Cygnus field to appraise the gas
potential of the western half of the field. The wells have the
potential to double the size of the estimated recoverable reserves from
the previous exploration and appraisal activities now estimated at 535
billion cubic feet. Endeavour has a 12.5 percent interest in the field."

What a pity Venture didn't get the chance........:-(

Hi Andrew, this was always my favourite board (although I am a bit biased;) and also I am truly sorry to see the end of VPC which was a share I had great confidence in for future gains.
Thanks for the tip, I must check out VGAS.

Well guys, thanks so much for a great discussion board, shame it ended like this.
I am into Volga gas (VGAS) with my profits from here, check them out if you like, looking very healthy indeed.
I learned a lot from you guys, so a heart felt thank you for sharing all your thoughts on here, it truly was a superb board.

All the best for the future, and maybe catch you all on another BB sometime.

Andrew

Certainly an interesting little arbitrage opportunity. Market price is now back at the offer price. For once my timing was perfect

Something to do with closing out positions. I think if you've pledged yur shares to CNA you need to own them by next week. the MM's are expoiting this. thats my hypothesis

Hi CWA (and others) - I'm creating a new thread based on this one entitled 'OIL & GAS Shares' - find it under 'OIL'
It's in the making at the moment but feel free to post on it if you wish.

Hello H

FWIW, I've just loaded up with some FPM about 10 or so days ago, looks like a lot of bangs for your buck over the next couple of years with several potential company makers.

Good luck with it.

If you are willing to gamble a small stake in FPM is worth a punt, if the Glenlivet drilling is successful the shares will be well in excess of 100p.

There is no doubt that the majority of the remaining reserves in the NS are West of Shetland, problem has been no infrastructure there but the Laggan pipeline will really open up these prospects. DYOR
