21/12/2010 13:44 | Poor you I invested after their media campaign but regret it. I saw it as a relatively defensive stock given the industry with good potential. Sold more recently at nearly 40% loss. Unimpressed with lack of contactability of Board. I hope they go on to lose their money. | gavapentin
21/12/2010 13:32 | Yes. Not happy with the statement. They seem to be selling the company at one third of asset value. | lord orphan

22/7/2010 12:38 | Reaction from Hardman - "We have reduced our estimates for Japan Leisure Hotels following a cautious trading statement this morning. Even so, we still expect 2010 to be better than 2009, in terms of revenue, EBITDA, profit, eps and dividend". | rockafella2

21/9/2009 11:20 | Couldn't find anything to explain it. Never mind, we're heading north again on the back of the half-yearly report... Would be nice to see the funding for the much-promised acquisitions in place with some timescales, but still encouraging. | gmoore01
15/9/2009 16:57 | Anyone explain the drop??? | gavapentin
20/7/2009 11:41 | @CJohn: I agree that capital-raising could temporarily depress the sp, but longer-term holders should see the temporary depreciation as unimportant. Also, you're quite right - this business isn't recession-proof, and there are other sector operators with problems. However, the debt/management issues of other operators are irrelevant as I'm not invested in those. The figures show this particular business is doing well in this particular recession. That said, it is indeed still a highly speculative investment but one that's worth considering, AIMHO. Regards, GM | gmoore01
17/7/2009 18:48 | And if the company wants to buy more hotels, as they say in the annual report, then they will have to raise fresh capital, which is likely to depress the share price. So not a great bargain, in my view. PS They also say that there are quite a number of fianncially distressed Leisure hotel operators in Japan: this gives the lie to the idea that this business is recession-proof. | cjohn
17/7/2009 18:30 | Property companies nearly always trade at a discount to NAV. The same is often true of hotel companies as well. | cjohn
15/7/2009 15:19 | Looking through their recent accounts I see that at the present exchange rate they quote a NAV of 91p per share. So plenty of upside to come in the future. | pip_uk
15/7/2009 11:06 | Really tickled my fancy this one also decided to have a modest punt. Think I might book a room one day. Pigs might fly as well. | pip_uk
15/7/2009 10:46 | I am in. Strong, if stalled economy. Massive occupancy. Oldest two trades in the world. Recession proof and growth prospects great. Obviously a good PR machine too. | gavapentin |
