I'm a bit confused as I accepted the 265p and I've received the proceeds of the takeover but it seems the shares are still being traded.

Certainly seems rather strange considering that Altrad have over 75%, as well as annoying, having accepted the offer and now finding that I could have raised more money.

The first closing date is the 22nd August so if the deal is declared wholly unconditional on that date it will be about 2 weeks before you get the cash. If not, the offer will be extended by another 2 weeks.

You will get a document through the post if the shares are in your name. In it is a form to fill in if you wish to sell the shares to the other company. If you don’t and the deal goes through you will still get the money but later. If the stock is held by your broker they may or may not send you a copy but it will be on the interweb so you can always have a look.

Absolutely agree kramch. you would think that the Company management would have at least demanded 10x earnings or ~350p. That's really what my initial feeling of slight disappointment was aimed at!

Shame to see this being taken out so quietly on a p/e of c 7.5!

ilovefrogs.. Thank you very much for your reply,I wasnt sure what it all meant, so I can hold on to them and i ll still get the 2.65 a share even if the price goes down in the meantime..or if another bid goes in it might go up ..

Jayne - you don't have to sell them, but if the deal goes through, you will be bought out involuntarily anyway at the offer price of 265p. The reason to hold on now, is if you think there might be a higher counter-bid. This is less likely as this deal is supported by Cape management, but does happen sometimes. Anyone else think we might get another bid?

Anybody else think that the warning in the last trading statement was a ploy to drive down the share price, so that the offer looked very attractive.

bulltradept what a load of bull. the market priced it at 180, this offer prices it at 262... someone else may value it at 300 or frankly anything. by your definition everyone is wrong at the same time.

a share is worth what people want to trade it at - i.e. what someone will pay and what someone will accept. it can't be any clearer can it?

If the market was always right, what would be the point in investing at all? Any more ridiculous statements?

"For me, this company was worth north of £3 " But you were and are wrong the market was telling you that and even the acquiring company is telling you that.

It can't be any clearer can it.

No, I was in at 1.90 and sold for a quick profit early last week. I was waiting to see if support at £1.80 would hold. Needed confirmation that's why I didn't press accept.
