I like this bit..

The syringe incorporates disposable single-use items for each patient that are integral to the safety aspect of the system and should therefore attract a high volume of consumable re-orders. This product is at an advanced stage of design with a successful late prototype being used and tested in practice. Astek Innovations is currently negotiating a worldwide distribution agreement with a large international company.

Hopefully some good news soon. With only 70 million shares in issue could be a verty interesting punt.

EXISTING PRODUCT RANGES

Impression Syringe

This innovative product was recently brought to the market by the Astek Group. The impression syringe enhances the quality of impressions taken. The Astek Group has now signed an exclusive world distribution agreement for this product and has also agreed to manufacture a modified version for a hearing aid company.

Pro-Tip Plus

The Pro-Tip was first developed by Dr Alan Segal and over 100 million units have already been sold. The Astek Group has now redesigned and upgraded the Pro-Tip with enhanced design features sold as Pro-Tip Plus and has developed an improved method of manufacture. Early response to the improved product has been very encouraging and Astek Innovations has entered into a world distribution agreement for the Pro-Tip Plus (Pro-Tip Ultra in the USA) with a large US-based international dental wholesale company.

Alma Products

The Alma products are a range of dental instruments designed in-house by the Astek Group dedicated to the accuracy of denture technique, and are protected by patents.

Pegasus Products

Pegasus is the Astek Group's own label range across a wide range of disposable single-use products including needles, sutures, lubricant sprays, impression trays and amalgam carriers, which overall has some 200 products items. A number of these are supplied to dentists in the UK and overseas, and also to UK and major international dental dealers as 'private label' (i.e. ready to be branded) and the Directors believe this to be a major growth area for the Enlarged Group.

ClearView Products

ClearView is a specialised brand of x-ray viewing and storage products that is being marketed directly to dentists. All the ClearView products are unique to ClearView and are not sold through any other Astek brands.

AGENCY PRODUCTS

Currently Astek Innovationshas a distribution agreement for the UK of a high quality impression material manufactured by Lascod in Italy. The agency market is seen as an area of business capable of being more widely exploited and the Board will be seeking new opportunities to enhance the Enlarged Group's agency product range.

PRODUCTS IN DEVELOPMENT

Astek Innovations is currently developing a range of products with a view to establishing global sales, in particular the Safety Anaesthetic Syringe System described below. There is also a pipeline of new products with market potential in development by the Group at various stages of design and patent protection.

The Safety Anaesthetic Syringe System

The safety anaesthetic syringe system has been designed by the Astek Group in order to remove the risk of needle stick injury to healthcare workers. There are an increasing number of high cost claims for needle stick injuries by healthcare workers and the safety anaesthetic syringe system offers comprehensive protection throughout the complete procedure. Legislation and good practice technique dictate that appropriate safety systems are used in dental practices. There is a legislative trend towards making the use of such systems mandatory. Accordingly the Board believes that the use of the safety anaesthetic syringe system should gain wide acceptance in the industry.

Results out - looks a bit dire. Need to cutback on costs and get this to cash break even quickly. Interesting company; will continue to watch. Has potential, but looks a bit precarious at the moment.

This looks like it will be low on funds when the results come out. It will need to cut costs/grow sales or raise additional funds. Quite like the business, but very risky until we get some numbers.

Well I'm not sure - how much have they blown on an aborted reverse takeover + still loss making. I'll take another look when the results are out.
