Yes Spud and that's why I am not topping up right now.

Have a feeling the market will jump on anything slightly negative so maybe open up a better top up price. Could be wrong and am very happy holding and being proved wrong too.

Good luck all 👍🏻

I am a little concerned with bank earnings coming out this week.

Not for the long term but just think anything slightly negative reported will get jumped on from a share price perspective. A happy holder but will wait before topping up as maybe sub 640 comes back around.

Good luck all 👍🏻

"UK bank sector results preview: Lloyds Bank, Barclays, NatWest and HSBC"

With high street lenders about to publish quarterly results, City writer Graeme Evans runs through what to expect from them and which ones the analysts like best.

The bank has a “Neutral” recommendation and 630p price target on HSBC Holdings , believing the key issues for the stock are the revenue outlook - especially in 2025 - as rates fall and the general lack of confidence around income forecasts and sentiment concerning China.

But with the US rate curve now including two rate cuts rather than the six at the start of the year, there's room for an improved outlook to be shared in first-quarter results on 30 April.

UBS believes this could be powerful given the forthcoming 21 US cents special dividend for payment in the second quarter and with HSBC among the least-crowded trades in UBS’s European coverage.

Standard Chartered, which reports on 2 May, is UBS’ favoured international pick with a “Buy” recommendation and 810p price target.

Was expecting a more favourable exchange tbh - £440 drop in the dividend to me.

Reasons to feel optimistic about a continued rise:1. New tax year and HSBC being a great choice for ISA investments, especially with the excellent yield.2. Dividend payout on the 25th April and the likelihood of these proceeds being reinvested (compound investing).3. Q1 results on the 30th April. Continued progress and announcement of quarterly dividend.4. Special dividend. Payable June with ex-dividend 16th May5. Continued buyback until 30th April.Onwards and upwards.

article seriously flawed though, that's only the first sentence!

"HSBC (LON: HSBA) share price has gone vertical this year, a move that has pushed it to its all-time high."

With a special divi alongside a quarterly this is a hold/buy for most. I think £6.40 breach is very likely and a push up to £6.75-£7 imminent. GLA
