Perhaps just a precautionary move by the jobbers.

I see both Peel Hunt and Winterflood are today each making a 200p(!) price spread: both quoting 350-550p.

The Balance Sheet looks okay, capable of surviving a year or so with little eps. During which time, the plus may be that competition could be reduced. Was there a Scandinavian buyer who took a stake here once ?

Another strange price movement today : marked down 70p or 14% with no shares traded.
The directors nearest always include a caveat in every report and there are several caveats today. Results continue to be satisfactory all the same.
I am not sure whether the elimination of our pension fund deficit is permanent but this certainly improves the look of balance sheet.
I will continue to hold my shares with confidence but do not expect any excitements.

I looked at this a while back & passed on it as Directors are enormously well paid v dividends , loved the products and have been kicking myself ever since, my guess is they're trading their socks off , how else to explain the price action?
Edit, it looks to be related to this RNS

Relatively big move for these today but no news to speak off - some director buying last month and they have been purchasing their own securities.

It's boring but it's still going the right way - new highs today again and still yielding 4%

And they're off.....breakout today, still 4% divi yield, loads of divi cover. Hurry up and buy some as you have probably only got 4 months to do it till the next trade goes through.

bubblefish, it's gone up over 30% a year compounded in 3 years before even considering dividends. How many investors/traders make those sort of returns, do you think?

Hope you don't take offence but the increase in share price / time ratio is really poor. Granted it's a steady grind up but there are better opetunities don't you think ? What kind of time scale were you invisaging ? My guess is you're looking at 3 months or so.

Thoughts ?

Hi there - I'm normally on the Premium Board but been busy with moving house and other things the last few weeks,

Bubble

Stew's reply sums it up for me too. For my point of view this looks like a nice boring medium term investment - cracking yield and steady growth - no sleepless nights, famous last words. A few other ones are DVSG, ESH, SCTN.

Of course if you want excitement there's always the much loved on these boards TWT, QXL etc......
