Someone from Barclays has just rung to tell me that the dollar cheque has reached them and that it should be converted into £ in the next few days and credited to my account.
I will tell you when it is.
In the meantime, thank you again for all your help which is much appreciated.

Barclays confirmed divi receipt to Matt on the 5th March.
It may take time to collect a USD cheque.
No reason not to keep you informed.

I have just spoken to Barclays yet again.
It seems that someone there has spoken to Matt Lane. He was very helpful and said that a cheque had been sent to them by post. This is presumably a replacement for one sent earlier.
No cheque has yet reached Barclays and they will ask him if some other form of payment can be made.

I had 390,000 SNS shares and so my entitlement is US$16,490.62.
Barclays have contacted SNS and have been advised that a cheque for this sum will be issued.
As to what became of the original cheque, assuming that there was one, they offer no comment.

If Barclays did receive the original cheque, they will probably have done so at their Churchill Place office in London. This is where an earlier payment went.
The people I speak to are in Glasgow and I doubt if they could tell me what happened to it. Reproaching anyone at Barclays for anything is a waste of breath as nothing is ever their fault !
My account has still not been credited and I will raise this with them again in a week's time if the payment is still outstanding and report again then.

The question is - did Barclays receive "your" original cheque.
I would need to know the nominee name and the nominee current postal address.
I suspect something has changed without updating SNS.
Otherwise the original cheque is still missing.

I am so grateful to you for keeping us all posted here as I think that I would otherwise have missed out on this latest payment.
Barclays Stockbrokers now tell me after much prodding that Silanis did issue a cheque for my 4.22c per share but that it never reached Barclays and that Silanis will now re-issue the cheque and that I may reasonably expect to see its proceeds credited to my account by the end of this month.
Barclays claim that "we were never sent any information about this payment and did not receive any corporate action events. We are an execution only company and can only liaise corporate actions with you once the details have been sent to us".
As for my complaint, their Chief Relations Adviser tells me that after a thorough investigation he has found no errors made by Barclays !
All I will say for Barclays is that they are usually quite efficient in simple matters; it is evident that in some parts of the business they still maintain a long established policy of employing young people straight from school who have to learn elementary skills on the job.
They charge me only £150 p.a. for maintaining a portfolio of about 30 stocks with commission of only £6 per transaction. It may be that, if I used some other broker with higher fees, I would get a better service but I expect that I will get this latest Silanis payment before long.

In the meantime I re-iterate my thanks for your guidance.

I hold my SNS shares in a Barclays Smart Investor account and have still not received the 4.22c per share. I did receive the earlier payments, each very late.
Did you receive a notice of this payment from Silanis in advance ?
It would be very helpful if you remind me of who deals with this matter there and provide his email address.
