creat holdings, the funding behind zzl, ought to diversify in Tasmania IMO

forget about nickel or zinc (low prices, & low demand)

go after onshore methane gas instead :-)

Good volume out of the blue today, not sure why but volume is
the key in stocks like this.

To compare Altona to ZZL is a little off the mark in my opinion. I fail to really see the value here. Despite many interesting targets, judging from the experience of old operation and other operations for other base metals in the area, costs of production will be in upper quantile. I have no doubt there are not good targets and likely something will be found, but a deposit rarely equals a profitable one. The area is very well known and to think anything truly world class can be found in terms of grade is off the mark.

IMHO the real appeal of many investors here is taking a punt on a penny share that might double, triple in a few days.

I hate to say it, but ZZL is a failed Jr miner kept alive by Chinese money as they [the Chinese] probably realise getting hold of Oz mining stock is not easy (RTO) and they will take what they can get. If my holding was worth anything I would sell and top up on ZOX.

I had a small nibble on the news, sort of reminds me of Altona
with lots of long term potential, just a case of guessing when
the herd moves in for it, Altona stuck around this price for a
while then went up to almost 5p in no time, lap of the mm gods,
they can kill a stock or take it to crazy prices, best to have
small stakes in them all and sell each one as they treble or more,
all the mining stocks seem to do it eventually.

Yes, but also sounds very long term!

10p in 2010?

These results show there is real potential within our exploration licences and
the Company is committed to continuing its exploration operations at the same
time as pursuing aggressive expansion plans and making the most of the current
global financial climate...

Just this market, lots of small caps coming out with positive news
but not many buyers about and as ZZL has been so quiet of late the
mm's have some stock to offer before any movement, 2 of the 4 mm's
have moved to the 1.1p bid leaving one mm offering 1.35p but you
can still buy easily at 1.24p online.

Exploration Update

Encouraging Geophysical Responses Identified by the SkyTEM Airborne EM Survey

Introduction
Zeehan Zinc Limited announces the completion of a High Resolution Airborne
Electromagnetic and Magnetic ("EM") Survey over the entirety of its licences in
Western Tasmania, Australia. The completion of this programme signifies the
first step in a major exploration programme being undertaken by the Company
during 2009/10. The aim of the survey was to detect anomalous conductive
responses in the EM data that could be directly targeted for base metal
mineralisation.

Methods
A 'Skytem' helicopter borne time-domain electromagnetic survey was flown by
Geoforce Pty Ltd for Zeehan Zinc Ltd. The survey was centred around the old
mining township of Zeehan, and included the entire areas held under tenements
EL18/2003, EL30/2002, and EL20/2002 (Figure 1). A SkyTEM EM data acquisition
system was used, together with a Scintrex CS-2 magnetometer attached to the
frame. The survey was flown to detect stratiform base-metal deposits and
Avebury-style Nickel mineralisation.

Results and Continuing Exploration
The airborne survey produced a large number of strong responses which have been
split into six levels of interest. It is proposed that the two highest levels of
interest will be investigated first as these are the most likely candidates to
fit our target exploration model.

The conductors have further been split into six zones which represent larger
structures. The continuing exploration for 2009 will focus on the two most
prospective of these areas: The Comstock Conductive Zone and The Tenth
Legion/Kynance mineral occurrences.

The Company will now undertake Stage Two of the program which will consist of
ground reconnaissance and mapping, Ground EM and magnetic surveys, and soil
geochemistry. The results for this program will be available later in the year
and will culminate in the initiation of Stage Three in early 2010 which will
consist of shallow drilling to finally determine the nature of the conductors
and potential new resources.

These results show there is real potential within our exploration licences and
the Company is committed to continuing its exploration operations at the same
time as pursuing aggressive expansion plans and making the most of the current
global financial climate
A full version of this announcement, including Figure 1, can be found on the
Company's website www.zeehanzinc.com.

The interpretations contained in this report are based on the training and
experience of the author geophysicist, Kate Godber of Mitre Geophysics Pty Ltd
and information passed on during the course of the investigation. As with all
geophysical data, multiple interpretations are possible. Strong EM responses may
be caused by non-metallic conductors such as graphitic rocks or salty water, or
metallic but barren conductors like pyrite and pyrrhotite. In addition, not all
styles of economic sulphide mineralisation give a recognisable EM response (e.g.
broadly disseminated deposits can give no response), and some geological
conditions produce anomalous EM responses that are not associated with economic
sulphides. In this area particularly, large stratigraphic (graphitic) conductors
cause strong EM responses that are not attributable to sulphide mineralisation.
