So todays RNS almost puts the lock on the door with almost 75%.

Jasdan, don’t remain in denial, move on even if you’re suffering a huge loss, it’s better than zero, which could be the case if you hang on.

Just because you’re only seeing a limited number of trades mean nothing, the facts will speak for themselves.

I don't think the latter events regarding SGI were due to being clueless ?
I think phoenix knew exactly what they were doing .
If you go back on my posts maybe a couple of years I thought that Phoenix would end up with the World's best stamp collection, for the equivalent of peanuts !.
The earlier mess with the guaranteed investments , I think was the guvnors ego . Not a new thing in the stock market World.
But again who bought the stamp collection of the recievers for a song ?
That's right Phoenix

I don't know if it is a done deal. Why are there buyers today? There's no way Phoenix are attracting enough sellers at the moment - this was priced too low.

will Phoenix withdraw their support? It looks like a number of shareholders don't believe this threat.

Jasdana . This is the endex of our many year relationship.
I would just like to blow my own trumpet one last time .
Go back a few of my posts 3 - 6 months ago . The delisting ... I was correct again :-)
Please don't go anywhere near NWF thread , I won't be able to cope with any more of your theories . Regards.

Jasdan,

It's only day 1 of the offer. They only need 17% to achieve the number required for the approval.

As I've mentioned before Phoenix is pulling the strings here, if they don't get their way then they will withdraw support. The company is already in default, isn't it?

There is a very slim chance someone will come in, offer to buy the entire company from Phoenix (inc clearing the debt).

It is a very cheap buy out though.

Does not look like many shareholders sold out today, less than 3% so perhaps everyone's hoping for another offer?

Not surprising Phoenix have decided to take this private.. They were always pulling the strings and probably think now's a good time to restructure it before selling it on.

Lots of discussion on the 1c and the fractional ownership.

I decided not to buy into the share (Fractional ownership) of the 1c BG stamp because of the lack of market place. They should have created the marketplace before offering the share.
I was tempted as I could say I own a piece of the "world's rarest stamp" but I thought it better to own stamps which can be easily sold later.

If they do create a functioning marketplace then I'll look at buying, even if the price is higher.

The positive I saw was that it gets more collectors and investors (ex and new) looking at buying or collecting from SG shop/website. Increasing footfall to their shop or increasing internet sales can't be a bad thing. That in turn should lead to higher sales and hopefully higher revenues/profits.
Once they have a functioning market place they could offer many other rare collectable items aside from stamps.

The problem SG face is Phoenix are running the show.

So there's some positives but still many challenges. It's still a gamble as to which way the company goes and entirely dependent on Phoenix.

Stanley Gibbons jumps as it plans to de-list

A look at the major share moves on the London market on Friday
Stanley Gibbons -

Stanley Gibbons (AIM:SGI) Group PLC jumped 3% to 1.5p after telling investors it plans to delist from the AIM list.

It has been asked to do so by Phoenix Asset Management Partners, on behalf of the company’s biggest investor, Phoenix SG, which owns 58% of the philatelic, coins and medals specialist.

It is seen as cost-effective to exit the market, a move it hopes will also help stem the “negative operational influences on the business”.

A process will be put in place that allows investors who do not want to hold unlisted stock in Stanlet Gibbons to sell their shares.

Mirriad Advertising nosedived 37% to 9.1p after announcing it expects to generate £2mln in revenue in 2022 as it moves away from the Chinese market.

The digital advertising company plans to double down on the US market, where turnover grew 57% in the first half of the year, and away from China following the country's stringent Covid-19 lockdowns.

"Mirriad is extending its lead in the in-content advertising market with an augmented focus and position in North America," said Stephan Beringer, chief executive of Mirriad.

Great to see that one or two on here that have been mindlessly promoting this for years, likely bow out on a low.

That is a very fair offer from Phoenix and gives any remaining holders a way out imo.

Good Luck jasdan but nobody is going to touch it, so take whats on the table and move on .

Ah well, there we go. As so often the eventual gain will be made by private equity. Still it's good that Phoenix or another is buying up the shares at 1.5p. Thank you.

Just before they confirm with the next set of results that not only are they back in profit again but that things are improving at a rate of knots. Confirmation of such an update would have sent the shares up sharply and cost Phoenix much more to take over. This is a royal stitch up

What can one say except a sad end to this public listing. At lease holders will leave with something and Phoenix may well get the 75% holding it needs to force the resolution by the end of the day.

What a sad end, but at least they've made sure Phoenix buy up any shares sold in the market at 1.5p a share (normally when a delisted is announced the stock tanks at least 50%).

So I've closed out my full holding at that price first thing.

Funny as I had a feeling a few months ago that Phoenix might decide to delist it, and that probably explains the drift down from 2.25p to under 1.5p over a period of a few months.

So they're delisting. It looks like the wall of buyers won't arrive anytime soon.
