...so is this RNS a bit of a bluff then?

I have some of these - but I think Mears is getting them too cheap. I wonder if I would be better off as a minority holder over the long term. Anyone any ideas.

Hi Russman - yes that is correct. 75% for delisting (scheme of arrangement), 90% to squeeze out anyone who still wants to hold on

Am I correct in thinking that Mears have to get to 75% in order to delist Supporta shares?

Just spoke with a very nice chap at Supporta who explained that Codex, the printers who sent out the letter on their behalf, have used the wrong list of shareholders (he didn't know which company's list had been used). Codex were used at the request of Brewin Dolphin who have used them previously if that sheds any light for anyone.

He's had about 50 calls about it already.

iii Spy - Thanks, but still none the wiser. I guess I will find out someday, not even worth the cost of a phone-call as I imagine it may have been a shell company with new shares issued on virtually nothing, if not it will be a pleasant surprise.

They were formally Staffing Ventures plc and as far as I know they have only issued shares for two of their acquisitions; namely Parys Snowdon Payroll Services and TerraQuest Solutions. Do any of these sound familiar?

I am in the same position - letters to both my wife and I and no clue which past dog didn't quite die.

I have just received two copies of the Recommended Offer, so I guess I must have some shares in Supporta, which I can only assume have come about from a company I invested in under a different name. Having written off many companies in the past, I cannot even guess who it might have been.

I kindly ask whether anyone on this BB knows the background of Supporta and are able to tell me who that may have been. Thanks.

We can stay loose until Allied Healthcare decide whether to bid or not

I use Barclays. I would just ring them up and ask them to send me one.
Check the Mears website - it might be there

This is a nice set of results in bad times and things look positive for the future...A good little company in its own right and any takeover that may be in progress will cost a bit more on the strength of these numbers- one to watch imo.

Pretty impressive results from Supporta Care. Large order book and hugely cash generative. No wonder a bid is in the wings.

Looks to me like prudent (if expensive) steps are being taken to rationalise the business in preparation for a sale [why else close your PLC HQ?]

Wouldn't be surprised to see the departing Mr Curran in the frame for buying SPS once a deal regarding Supporta Care has been agreed.
