04/2/2008 09:44 | "The Company's ability to ensure timely fulfilment of this and existing contracts is subject to it securing additional working capital." A new distribution contract, but hinting at fund raising via some means due to capital constraints.... | cootuk
29/11/2007 10:22 | total no's produced down but net sales up 63%.also P/E below 6 if add back listing costs.still looking good going forwards. | kennerland
29/11/2007 08:10 | From the total number of phones produced it doesn't appear that they have increased production, merely swapped from OEM to own-brand phones. What happened to the extra shifts and extra lines? Admin expenses have tripled for some reason, and total profit is the same as last year. Not really impressive. | cootuk
29/11/2007 07:16 | 2007 P/E of under 6. Forward P/E of maybe 3. Looks rather cheap I reckon. | ethics_gradient

But then again, it doesn't necessarily mean that anything's wrong. It was over five months ago that ZTC said it expected to anounce the results in October, which is plenty of time for some innocent slippage; and I believe that under AIM rules they have until the end of December to announce them. In addition, stockmarkets have been weak recently, and with an illiquid share like ZTC it may not take much selling to depress the price quite a bit. With a market cap. of c. £12.4M., could it perhaps be a bargain? B.F. | blank frank
29/10/2007 20:04 | I'm pretty disappointed that there's very few updates...they really should have had a second shift up and running, which would require an RNS given the effect it would have on sales. | cootuk
29/10/2007 19:23 | These are the world's twenty largest mobile network operators by recent number of subscribers (and by proportionate subscribers, if the company has holdings in other operators). China Mobile (349 million) is the largest by a long way:- ZTC's current market cap. at 15.75p is £14.75M. (on the basis of 93,682,516 shares in issue). | blank frank
29/10/2007 18:33 | ZTC has fallen half a penny to a new all time closing low today, on two comparatively modest sales:- ZTC ZTC TELECOMMUNICATIONS PLC ORD 10P As at 29-Oct-2007 18:11:56 15.750 -0.50 -3.08% Bid Offer Volume High Low Last Close 14.50 17.00 31,250 16.00 15.00 15.75 on 29-Oct-2007 Last 5 trades Time/Date Price Volume Trade value Type 15:59:05 29-Oct-2007 15.00 25,000 3,750.00 Ordinary Trade 10:51:18 29-Oct-2007 16.00 6,250 1,000.00 Ordinary Trade 11:17:52 24-Oct-2007 15.00 2,296 344.40 Ordinary Trade 13:20:49 19-Oct-2007 16.00 25,000 4,000.00 Ordinary Trade 15:27:31 18-Oct-2007 15.30 5,000 765.00 Ordinary Trade Perhaps due to nervousness that the results may be later than promised. 05/6/2007 08:20 | bought a few today.Like words such as 'materially ahead of market expectations'.Also their target (lesser developed areas) market is growing at an increasing rate. | kennerland
05/6/2007 08:11 | Does someone know what the broker forecast was for this year? Can't quatify the ahead statement until I know this & haven't been able to see the figures anywhere as yet. TIA Chris. | darlocst
05/6/2007 06:44 | They are trying to break into other low cost markets like Africa, but competition is fierce. There are plenty of low cost phone manufacturers, though many are OEM and don't have the appropriate licenses to sell direct to market. Reading more into the RNS I guess they might be 10-20% ahead as they are talking about being ahead before IPO costs are taken into account. We really need word about them expanding their production lines rather than getting more money from a higher value product mix. | cootuk
04/6/2007 22:17 | Stegrego You may be right but its always possible they could strike a deal with one the stores abroad- Also to my knowledge no-one else produces a handset with a built in dual sim card holder so anyone selling these first could do well just a thought really | footdocta
04/6/2007 22:10 | I got the impression that they dont sell anywhere but in China? Dont think they have Argos over there do they? | stegrego
04/6/2007 21:59 | Interesting company this- With such a fertile market and high subscriber numbers it's always possible that ztc could link up with a company like Vodafone who are looking for a foothold in China. There is also huge potential in the handset only market for the phones with built in dual sim card holders. Whilst You can buy dual sim card holders for existing phones very easily they are not entirely reliable, can drain the battery quickly and of course invalidate the handset warranty if anything goes wrong! Dual SIM card holders offer the chance for save money on calls\texts as the user simply switches between the 2 depending on time of day, whether abroad etc. The networks will not endorse this of course but stores like Woollies or Argos, supermarkets etc who have no obligation to the networks could do well selling these as sim free handset only especially if ZTC can produce feature packed handsets competitively priced. | footdocta
04/6/2007 08:13 | Nice trading update, but pity there weren't any real tangoble numbers to give us a feel. I still think this has been overlooked. | cootuk
04/6/2007 08:10 | Looks pretty good here - nearly bought some - but im stuffed to the rafters with Chinese AIM stuff, and the spread also puts me off somewhat. Watch this rocket now... | stegrego
07/5/2007 21:48 | I found another link to a company who ZTC have outsourced to previously...this company has 500k unit capacity. Perhaps the article got confused with ZTC and the outsourcing? "Shenzhen Phonetech Telecom Equipment Co. Ltd can deliver your GSM phone orders in just two weeks, thanks to 10 automated production lines in our ISO 9001:2000-certified Shenzhen factory. Every month we produce more than 500,000 GPRS-enabled phones with built-in cameras and Simcom chipsets. We release about two feature-packed phone models every month. If you need custom products, we can make them happen, just as we do for top mainland China companies QAOXINQI, BLUESTAR and ZTC. We also provide logo printing, package design and user manual development service" | cootuk
25/4/2007 15:05 | ...IF...the article is correct. I would have thought the new factory would have been detailed in the AIM prospectus if it was genuine, so I'm not so sure as I couldn't see any mention. I've emailed the company for clarification on this as the article may be mistaken. I've specifically asked about this article, and what they expect 2007/2008 output to be. | cootuk |
