For those who haeve a stake in Yorkshire Group you may be happy to note that the Inland revenue have announced this am that they will now accept a negligible value claim against the equity: http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/cgt/negvalist.htm ie you can claim the capital loss now if you want to.

The directors have egg on their face but that's it. They are liable for nothing.

It's very probable that shareholders have lost everything, at this point in time the company is being run with the primary obligation of returning as much value as possible to creditors and if creditors don't get paid out in full then shareholders will very likely get nothing and there will be no meeting. As far as I can tell though (from looking at Companies House) no adminstrator has yet been appointed. When/if one is you can often download details from Companies House and/or speak to the firm that are administrating.

Does anyone know what is happening? They won't take calls and don't call back. Does it follow, if wound up, the receiver will call a meeting and would small shareholders (26K shares)get to hear?

technically yes but don't expect it to amount to much. Wait for the name to appear on this list and then you can put your tax loss claim in: http://www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/cgt/negligible_list.htm

Answering my own question - Current gossip is that YOR has sold its US properties, subject to contract, and will issue a statement on completion, hopefully by the end of this month, which might be expected to get the banks off its back. DYOR

Yorkshire Group says in talks with Peter Gyllenhammar to inject capital Maybe not........:8) LONDON (AFX) - Yorkshire Group PLC said it is in talks with non-executive director Peter Gyllenhammar over the possibility of an injection of additional equity. It said Gyllenhammar "has indicated a willingness in principle to become involved in a transaction with the company in his capacity as a private investor". As a result of a potential conflict of interest, Gyllenhammar has decided to resign his directorship with immediate effect, in order that he can act more freely. Gyllenhammar specialises in investing in companies in financial difficulty. newsdesk@afxnews.com rf/
