cracking figures & a 7am RNS :-) ..... their 'one-stop shop' offering of complimentary services is really starting to come together now.
Record revenues, 50% increase in EBITDA, 100% increase in profit and EPS
Growing cash on hand.

"accelerate the strategy of expanding the barging services business so as to maximize shareholders' returns"

Whilst they may not be completely unlinked to the USA & European economies, i believe this proves that it is intra-ASEAN trade that the company is benefitting from now and should continue to do so in the future.

From last years interims;

The gross profit margin of terminal operation sector decreased by 4.3% from 33.7% to 29.4% against the increase of gross profit margin of barging services sector by 12.7% from 12.7% to 25.4%.

It's the barging that has seen the huge growth since this statement, if they can maintain these improved margins, then I think the interim figures due in 3 weeks will be spectacular.

edit. Its the metal trading that has seen the largest growth, but that is very very low margin. We could also see growth in the port logistics side with the newly installed quayside and rail mounted cranes. It would only take some news on the quarry/mining side aswell and this business will be firing on every front.

I'm starting to see the appeal of train spotting now after finding where abouts all our little boats are and where they're going.

Doesn't look like the two new ships are in service yet.

Perhaps a better site? Shows the recent activity, and you can even follow vessel for current location and track

Not directly relevant, but may be of interest - Dongfang Shipbuilding coming to AIM on Aug 18.

hi crawford .... not the most exciting thing to watch at present. one advantage of the poor liquidity i suppose. Little trading in the stock for it to be affected like many other stocks this last few months

"Yinggao Board of Directors is now looking for suitable strategic partners to expand its business in shipping & logistics."

new sentence on the website isn't it?

It's getting interesting now. The business has been stabilised though 2009/10 & demonstrated consolidation & now growth thru 2009/10.
I believe mgmnt decisons this year will indicate their desire and ability to expand and grow beyond current scale.

about time we had a tick here .... H1 in the bag now and the typically stronger H2 getting underway now.
I was interested to read of the activities in Copper Cathodes lately. believe it may reappear in Q4 & 2012

Current Mkt Cap: £47m

Turnover 2010: £37.6m
Property, Plant & Equipment: £23m
Hardly trading at a premium price if you look at it from the point of a newco wanting to occupy this particular space
Refurbed assets on both land & sea now, cash in the bank, 3 profitable years under their belt. growth planned in & some profitable early diversifaction.

Not the most exciting share & troublesome that we are so illiquid at this stage but, quite happy to hold on for another year, at least and see if they can really start to leverage the assets and the diversification. majority holder must be quite pleased with the new mgmnt performance since they dumped all the prior 'experiments' and focussed back on the core business

it's really shaping up quite well i feel.
The barge flet is expanding as indicated & they are repeatedly serving some large blue-chip clients.
They are seeking diversification of income streams by offering complimentary services as/when opportunities present themselves
The dockside operation has been modernised, as they indicated it would be
They are slowly amassing a healthy cash balance ... we must wait to see what they have in mind for this. Opportunistic acquisition maybe?
They are seeking to market their new services to existing and new customers

At some point the majority shareholder will look to offer some stock but, not yet at this level and unlikely to be on a piecemeal basis. I'm half expecting a sale to a larger corporate at some stage

Regarding my previous posts - below are the RNS announced to the LSE in recent memory, I don't believe there is any reference to the "Newly formed non ferrous metal trading division."

Sadly I think it's lack of interest damanko, I bought 225k immediately on seeing the results, and was surprised to get them for the price I did, but does show how little other interest was.

Trust I'm not speaking too soon, but............

For once we've not seen the price move up gradually as the results announcement approached - only for it to plunge again shortly afterwards. The only trades I can see for the last week or so (all buys, judging from the price):

c 441,000 on PLUS
c 55,000 on LSE

So very small volumes, unsure whether this represents the scarcity of the limited amount of free float shares available, or simply lack of interest.

Regarding the results:

The fleet carrying containers (river class barges - serious kit) has doubled since 2009, and impressive investment has been made in container handling equipment.

The container leasing operation looks promising, third parties looking to move cargo securely would rather lease than buy, and if the transit is local, no doubt Yinggao will pick up the logistics (ie handling & shipping) revenues too.

The non ferrous metal trading turnover appears to have grown from very little to HK274 million (appx £21.5 million) - in a very short time. Seems a little odd to me - can anyone on here recall an RNS regarding this? The Annual results mention briefly that: "On 23 March 2010, the Group established a non ferrous trading company, Yinggao Resources Limited."

Also this statement:

"Our newly formed non ferrous metal trading division reported a turnover of HK$274 million and a contribution to profit of HK$3.5million. Substantially all of the trading was in electrolytic copper cathodes."

From what I can gather (any expert help here welcomed....): Its main application is as raw material for the production of electrolytic copper rods, copper shields, and in the composition of a series of alloys.

The info in the Yinggao RNS is pretty vague, my interpreting of the wording is that YGH is involved in the trading (ie buying, holding and selling at what seems a substantial margin)- rather than the manufacturing process.

Bit like pork bellies, eh?

just glimpsed the results. Good solid progress with further growth indicated in several existing and new areas. Cash on hand. A very credible performance & on initial inspection i see nothing that caused me concern.
Agree it may have been better to have seen a 7am announcement but, that's pretty irrelevant at this stage & sometimes it doesn't hurt to swim against the tide anyway. Would like to visit them one day .. pity i can't make it on this trip

Quite right, thanks mrionion, I'd forgotten that.

How do you know when you're too into your investments? I just found myself giving a disappointed sigh when I realised I would be on holiday at the time of the agm, stupid holidays lol.
