It was takeover which I was thinking of (dreaming of) when I pitched in to this stock. I suppose it depends on what technology they have and who wants it. I would have thought that 3D printing was a massive growth area and the shares must be dirt cheap at this price. However, if someone is running the slide-rule over it, they are keeping very quiet about it!

I think the jury will be out on that until 22 March.

Here is response from Alex Bevis(clearly still at the company):-

Dear Mark
Thanks for your e mail.
On 15 December we noted in our trading statement that we’d be issuing our 2016 results on 22 March.
We have just (today) issued an RNS confirming the 22nd in case there was any confusion on timing of results announcements.
Like most companies we avoid making trading updates or other announcements in reaction to share price movements.
Best regards
Alex
CFO

OK thanks all. In which case I probably won't receive any reply from Edwards. The recent drop in the share price is never-the-less puzzling without any news (available to shareholders) to justify it!

I'm not sure its appropriate for the company to issue a TU when they already issued one covering 2016 on 15 Dec 2016 and the Finals are due to be published on 22 March.

Clearly the market thinks that 2017 has not started well but, the market may have got it wrong, in which case the company should certainly NOT be issuing a TU.

Email sent by me today to Xaar:-

"Dear Mr Edwards and Bevis

As a substantial shareholder of your company I am appalled by the drop in the share price which seems to be on the back of no information about the progress of the company whatsoever.

I cannot believe that you are either unaware or unconcerned about the share price when firstly you are running the company and secondly you are both shareholders.

Can you please issue a trading statement to reassure the market and us shareholders, before the value of our holdings diminishes into thin air!!!!

I await your response. I will be publishing this letter in public media also.

Yours sincerely"

Lets see what reply I receive - if any! I will publish it here when received.

I find it amazing that there has been no management statement about the declining trend in the sp, if only to restore an element of confidence.

I don't think they had 3D printing then. This is revolutionary technology!

I'm building a position here in the hope and expectation of a marked increase in the share price over the next few months. The company has a strong balance sheet and is in the forefront of the 3D printer technology which is set to become very important/significant in the near future.

Latest British Bulls comment is:- "Our system’s recommendation today is to STAY LONG. The previous BUY signal was issued on 21/02/2017, 7 days ago, when the stock price was 372.7133. Since then XAR.L has fallen by -1.20%.".

Latest FT comment is:- "As of Feb 25, 2017, the consensus forecast amongst 8 polled investment analysts covering Xaar plc advises that the company will outperform the market.". And:- "The 3 analysts offering 12 month price targets for Xaar plc have a median target of 510.00, with a high estimate of 580.00 and a low estimate of 490.00. The median estimate represents a 35.64% increase from the last price of 376.00.".

Even the FT analysts "low estimate" is substantially above the current price. I think these are ripe for a take-over. We will see if time proves me to be correct!

Interesting comments about the new CFO's contacts in the Far East, but more importantly, the 3D investment in Nottingham seems to be going well:

Extracts:

"Xaar chief executive Doug Edwards said: “From our standpoint Lily has good global experience. Less than 1% of our revenue is in the UK and the bulk is in Southern Europe and Asia and she has lots of experience there. China represents one third of our revenue so I think she will help us there for sure."

"Liu comes in at a time of growth for Xaar, which recently announced plans to invest £1m in its 3D printing business this year, as it targets £220m combined sales across its operations by 2020.

As part of the 3D spend, the firm is in the final phase of expanding its Nottingham 3D facility, which Edwards said should be fully operational by the end of March. A number of 3D printers are currently being shipped to the facility.

Earlier this month, Xaar signed a partnership agreement with Xerox for the development of bulk piezo inkjet printheads.

It is also currently in the process of scaling its Drupa-launched thin-film aqueous 5601 printheads, developed in partnership with Ricoh."

Yes the management seem clueless as to shareholder value/shareholder concerns.
They missed a trick by not keeping some back from the China boom-there are all sorts of ways of doing this! Seems almost ex growth now-shame.
