19/6/2015 15:50 | Edison has increased forecasts a bit: UK drives year-on-year progress FY15 results were in line with April guidance and modestly ahead of our estimates with PBT of £5.7m. Earnings benefited from a tax credit (as in FY14) and EPS (normalised and fully diluted)was up c 35% year-on-year. Having returned to the dividend list by declaring a final payment for FY14, DPS doubled to 1.0p for FY15 as a whole. UK operations were the standout performers with overseas regions affected by a funding transition in the EU’s main aid framework mechanism. WYG had a £12.3m net cash position at the end of FY15, the majority of which is unrestricted. Hence, the company has financial flexibility to handle a higher order book and pipeline positions. Our EPS estimates for this year and next have increased by 5.6% and 7.3% respectively | 18bt
09/6/2015 07:51 | I notice the following statement taken from their results: "Finally, taking account of shareholder feedback, it is evident that the structure of the current long-term management incentive scheme is an impediment to optimising shareholder value. Accordingly, the Board intends to bring forward a new proposal, for shareholder approval at the time of the AGM in September, which will both retain and incentivise existing talent and provide the opportunity to recruit the new talent that will support the anticipated growth opportunities. The guiding principle of any new incentive scheme will be to align the interests of shareholders, key employees and the wider stakeholder base" In other words "we realise we were being greedy - how else can get the same huge options without upsetting everyone"? Given the huge amount of M&A in this sector (both UK and internationally) I can only conclude that their asking price for the company was way too high. I have not met the management so don't want to be too judgemental but I really don't have a good feeling about WYG even though I quite like their business strategy. Comments / discussion welcome. | norbert colon
09/6/2015 07:16 | I suspect they couldn't get the 150p they needed to vest all their options. They should get there eventually but they'll just have to work for it like the rest of us. | wjccghcc
09/6/2015 07:12 | Sale of co now off - market price suggested it wasn't expecting sale anyway. Results stronger than market had expected at least in underlying PBT. Personally, think forecasts for 2016 will need to be increased (a year early) as a result of strong 2nd half and sheer number of contracts won. No real indication of what they will do with the cash - they won't need much of it for working capital and suspect that they are suffering from the usual smaller company thing: difficult to make acquisitions in people businesses and limited number anyway, but share buy backs make the company smaller and reduce liquidity. Having been in this position, I would go for a small buy back and increase the dividend much further, which will bring some new shareholders in. | 18bt
26/1/2015 08:06 | Do any of you guys (or ladies) here have a tentative take-out price in your minds. I would expect to see something like 125-135p based on a typical P/S ratio but comments / feedback welcome along with basis of estimate. | norbert colon
