I think we are going to start seeing some action here soon - MACD, RSI look interesting. Ignored for May. British Bullsht says BUY IF, conf criteria looking likely to be met today. Any thoughts...?

The Dubai issue does seem to be weakening this type of co imo, somewhat unjustifiably imo, anf if not unjusifiable it's more than deserved for most of them imo.

WSH seems to have performed the best of the sector tho, imo.

Hi,

Foreverhoping - I spoke to the company recently about the Dubai problems, and they've been aware since Sept 2008 of problems, and have made full & prudent provisions in the 2008 accounts for doubtful\bad debts in that region.

The bad debt provision rose in 2008 from £6m to £20m (from memory), i.e. they took a £14m P&L hit in 2008, which is fairly material to the overall results (would have been a lot better without the Dubai hit).

Therefore unless some new problems emerge, the 2009 figures should be OK, as they indicated in the last trading update early May 2009.

I've been buying recently at 210-220p, as it looks far too cheap at this level IMO, excellent sustainable divi, and very low PER.
Geographic spread & scale of business should protect earnings, and indeed they said in May 2009 update that some sectors are doing well, others not so well.

been accumilating past few days. dubai still a concern, but management appear pretty well in control, and recent sizable director purchases encouraging, especially as its likely they knew of dubai probs at the time.
