19/4/2007 12:41 | A little bird told me that this is going to fly! | geeforce
04/4/2007 16:28 | Hi GF! tell them of your interest on the other side-I can't drum any up over there. | moormoney
04/4/2007 16:25 | Have a look at retirement sector SVN equity release. If you were to marry such good minds, who knows what might happen. Bit of selling today, on the back of profit taking, worth waiting for froth, and then come back for more, think it's slightly ahead, but trying to get meaningful chunks is a game. Really rate the directors, who want to drive this baby,a nd their blue chip shareholder base is comfort in it's self. Ie Luke Johnson! Happy Hunting | hedgehunter1
03/4/2007 15:25 | Moormoney, I held McCarthy and Stone from 1994 till it was taken out last summer. The growth was phenomenal.I still miss it - and the dividend were generous too. I see Wren have recruited one of MCTY's managers. | what is a login ?
03/4/2007 14:07 | The only other builder in this retirement sector was taken out at a very much higher price than this one is trading at--I'm happy holding. | moormoney
03/4/2007 13:55 | You are right to point out the fundamentals, Hedgehunter. In the buiding sector a P/e of over 10 is high imo. You are lucky to have discovered this company early. (Although fortune favours the prepared mind, as Louis Pasteur pointed out. I only heard of it after IC tipped it at 57p. I think the P/e is only one consideration however. I am thinking of where this will be in five or ten years time given the demographic trends and the need for older people to feel safe and snug. Then there is the niche aspect to the business and the competititve edge. Wren could provide sheltered accomodation in more senses than one. | what is a login ?
02/4/2007 10:56 | Be very grateful, for local view point on how sustainable to current P/E ratio of 20 is, as compared to it's peers. Luckily bought in at lowere, and pound cost averaging up, as price has risen, but feel, we need to pause for breath, on the back of such a meteoric climb. The group, has a wonderful business model, and most other housebuilders would be very envious, at the level of growth and profits. The question I have is is it sustainable, and can they cope with that amount of development product coming through th pipeline? Any views would be welcomed. Hedge | hedgehunter1
01/4/2007 18:33 | I'm not an old sardi holder! whatever that may be :-) This is what caused the Wren to rise 6 months to 31.01 ()=Loss/Debit Figs in £ and pence (p), unless otherwise stated. 2007 2006 Revenue 477,485 1,188,995 Pretax profit 245,504 1,716,178 EPS basic 0.48p (0.33p) EPS diluted 0.48p (0.30p) Maiden dividend 0.25p Losses turning to prifots and a maiden divi. 26/2/2007 11:47 | Now you've made me jealous, philjeans. lol. I'll be quite happy if the share price goes up 50 per cent in the next twelve months. | what is a login ?
26/2/2007 09:30 | Cheers login; have to admit I shed a few recently - 500% in less than 12 months was too much of a temptation! But still a great future for this one! | philjeans
26/2/2007 09:20 | This company was tipped last week by IC at 57p. I bought 2000 this morning at 61.6p. I used to hold McCarthy and Stone and have bween looknig for a replacement in the sector. Reading this thread I wonder whether I should have bought more. I think I'll wait for the maiden divi however before contemplating a top up. Well done philjeans for getting in so early. I think this company has great prospects. | what is a login ?
13/2/2007 10:03 | RNS just released regarding the appointment of the ex McCarthy & Stone Sales & Marketing Director as Wrens Sales & Marketing Director Designate. Having read the statement I think this could be a very good appointment. | johnsoho
05/2/2007 12:41 | Going well - the only quoted builder now for the retirement sector? | philjeans
26/1/2007 09:45 | What is your view now on this ? | trendie
12/1/2007 09:31 | 'cos I can't think of any other reason why they'd ask me if (were I to consider selling my holding), I'd give them an option to buy. Surely they can get them in the market if they want them that bad? | geeforce
09/1/2007 09:36 | Had a phone call yesterday from someone who'd got my details from 'the shareholder's register'. Anyone else? Suspect we may see some movement here shortly. | geeforce
