20/4/2017 20:29 | The Gateside portfolio performance has been dire this week!!! | gateside
20/4/2017 20:28 | As you know, I trade little, but want shot of my shares not in an ISA. Had been planning to do this, this week, even before the supprise election was called. The election may open up new buying opportunities for my extra cash. | gateside
20/4/2017 20:25 | Pat... I'm selling the remining few shares that are outside of my ISA and will re-invest the cash into my ISA now that we are in the new tax year, so that all profits belong to me and none to the tax man! Sold 2 of my investment trusts: BRFI for a 43% gain JEMI for a 23% gain I will look a rebuying BRFI in my ISA but JEMI I don't feel is as good and will most likely keep the cash and re-invest somewhere else when there are further dips in the Market. They have both done well, for the longest time BRFI was at a 20% loss, so it was good to make a 43% profit. Just have to be patient sometimes. Might be a another sell tomorrow, so watch this space. | gateside
20/4/2017 18:44 | Gateside, interested to know which 2 companies you sold. Also, what is your stock level % now? Our 22 remaining companies:- Micro cap long term holds (AEG, BHRD & REDS) Small Recoverers/Growers (BVC, CCC, RTHM, SPT, TNI, TRD & ZYT) FTSE250 wannabees (BTG, CEY & CPI) FTSE100 essentials (BARC, ITV, JMAT, KGF, RIO & SHP) Tech Fund (PCT) FTSE100 Trackers (L100 & VUKE which account for about 70% of all stock). | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 17:32 | OPEX squeeze stateside I see!. | essentialinvestor
20/4/2017 17:16 | Pat... I've totally lost track of what you hold! Sold two companies today. So down to 23 stocks. Update later. | gateside
20/4/2017 16:57 | Our portfolio was flat today and the stock level reduced to 58.1% following just 1 trade (a reduce on RIO). Still just 22 companies which I will list if others have lost track. | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 15:49 | Pat, appreciate your take, thanks. | essentialinvestor
20/4/2017 14:48 | If nothing else, FTSE should get scuppered short-term by DOW which really ought to put in at least (02.90%) for its second (started @ 20887), so a recovery wave from no higher than 20281, IMO. | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 14:34 | Don't really think the earlier 7097 will be bottom of second but, if it is, a 55.00% recovery of 7406:7097 would lead to c7267. | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 13:57 | Sounds like you have a very large portfolio if you were considering taking your ISF holding up to c£80,000 bearing in mind you also seem to hold/trade scores of other companies. Obviously, it would be imprudent to ask about total portfolio value. You seem reluctant to provide a list of your core companies but are you prepared to divulge the number of companies you hold in your core portfolio? | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 13:39 | Thanks Pat, almost had a third lot of ISF but hoping for a little lower, which may not happen. Taken profits of LLOY, added a small amount back on the dip from the opening pop up. | essentialinvestor
20/4/2017 13:36 | Sorry, EI, been doing something else. The answer is Yes but not today (yet). Have been Adding to our FTSE100 trackers (L100 & VUKE) over the last few days but next order is due to fire around about 7090 (VUKE @ 3160p). | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 10:29 | I've added 3800 ISF. | essentialinvestor
20/4/2017 09:10 | Pat, are you adding equity exposure here?, TIA. | essentialinvestor
20/4/2017 08:08 | Today is Day 5 of FTSE's second Down wave (Day 22 overall in correction). Getting close to my initial target of c7073 so I've been thinking about the extent of the recovery wave that will follow. FWIW, I fancy it will be iro 55.00% equating to e.g. c7256 if c7073 happens to be the low point of wave 2 down. | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 08:08 | Perversely, RIO's gone up on weak production figures. | nasdaqpat
20/4/2017 07:56 | GBP looking perky again, may be some more weakness on large USD earners near the open. | essentialinvestor
19/4/2017 22:08 | Defo, but its still like getting blood out of a stone! | nasdaqpat
19/4/2017 21:56 | IBM must be responsible for some of the DJI weakness. | essentialinvestor
19/4/2017 21:46 | Yes, any continuation in oil price weakness will not help FTSE100 tomorrow. DOW has actually established a second principal Down wave of its own today and, IMO, is likely to be in a correction although, arguably, a move below 19785 is needed to confirm it. So far, it has only declined (03.73%) but this weakness has lasted 34 days which could be viewed as significant. | nasdaqpat
19/4/2017 18:08 | Pat, you may get your 7073 tomorrow. Added more GSK and some DLG, sold some DLG near the Tuesday open as mentioned on the DLG board, have to admit that was very fortunate timing. Wanted a few more LLOY but the price got away from me. | essentialinvestor
19/4/2017 18:04 | Yes, its not looking too good if my estimate is anything to go by! On the plus side, however, you've still got some cash to top-up when the time is right...I fancy this initial down segment (which may be the only one if only a segmental correction) might bottom @ c6971 which would be c(06.39%) off 7447. | nasdaqpat
19/4/2017 17:22 | Tempted to not look at my portfolio for a few weeks. | gateside
19/4/2017 16:56 | Our portfolio was down (00.19%) today and the stock level increased to 58.4% following a further tickle of L100. | nasdaqpat |
