21/3/2017 23:37 | Hi dimerose, Its a bit early to call a correction, IMO...FTSE hasn't even put in a Down wave yet although tomorrow should confirm that it is in one. DOW is the interesting beast as that has now extended its Down wave to 14 days and @ today's intraday low of 20653 has already declined (02.44%). The problem for Bears, however, is that its last Up wave base was way back @ 19785 on 31 Jan so it would have to travel below that level to indicate that a Segmental correction is in play. That seems unlikely and I fancy it to put in another principal Up wave (number 4 in the current Segment) starting from somewhere close to its current level. Another c10 days Up to another new high should take DOW well into April and a pukka correction could ensue...somewhere around c(10.00%) then seems likely. | nasdaqpat
21/3/2017 23:22 | Sorry Gateside, been having my evening nap! Our portfolio is still Up about 2.25%. | nasdaqpat
21/3/2017 22:42 | Hello Nasdaqpat(PK).How low do you think DAX and FTSE may correct to. Many thanks | dimerose
21/3/2017 22:08 | Really Excellent day on the Markets yesterday. So today I'm back just under 2% | gateside
21/3/2017 20:56 | What's your figure for 2017 then? | gateside
21/3/2017 20:29 | Segmental & Phase tallies for American Indices (plus FTSE100 & DAX for comparison purposes) @ Day 92 & Day c278 respectively (Day 94 & Day 280 for FTSE) :- DAX~~~~~19.47%~(1017 DOW~~~~~18.37%~(1788 NASComp~17.76%~~(503 NAS100~~17.04%~~(464 SPX~~~~~15.21%~~(208 FTSE100~11.53%~~(667 Blow-off top anyone! I didn't realise until a few minutes ago that both NASComp & NAS100 made new highs earlier on today. | nasdaqpat
21/3/2017 20:22 | Too right I am! | nasdaqpat
21/3/2017 20:08 | You might be back ahead of me after today! | gateside
21/3/2017 16:52 | Our investments market performed today with a decline of (0.71%) as opposed to (0.69%) for FTSE100. Of our remaining 40 shares, 7 closed Up, 30 Down & 3 Unchanged. Stock level increased to 46.1%. | nasdaqpat
21/3/2017 16:04 | XAR results tomorrow. Decided, on balance, that results are likely to be poor so after a 2 day improvement sold out leaving 40 companies. Added to Trackers earlier so stock level now @ 46.1%. | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 23:32 | Noted, Gateside! Careful, EI, Invisage will be calling you for overtrading. LOL! BTW, I still think markets are likely to keep going up for another month or so...its just that I'm not taking any chances and, ideally, want to be out of all FTSE100 stocks before the correction gets underway. However, will continue to hold our 2 FTSE100 tracker funds (L100 & VUKE) but probably only about 15% of portfolio. Will also keep our 12 small companies which make up about 10% of our portfolio and another 5% via 5 FTSE250 shares. | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 20:14 | I beat your prediction, so have crept above you for 2017. Still plenty of time for both of us to catch Invisage! | gateside
20/3/2017 20:12 | Well hope you guys are correct about imminent equity weakness. Sold a large chunk of my HSTN near the open, they brought FY results a day forward, also sold some of my DLG, added to DLG on Thursday and Friday afternoon. | essentialinvestor
20/3/2017 19:07 | I'll check later and see if I have sneaked ahead of you! | gateside
20/3/2017 18:24 | I think we are about level ytd after today...but I reckon Invisage outperformed both of us...his portfolio approximately Up 0.35% as opposed to c0.25% for yourself and c00.10% for Videans. | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 18:16 | Correct. ABF is one of those companies that I have no desire to sell. Fundamentals if the company look sound. | gateside
20/3/2017 16:54 | Our investments slightly outperformed today with a gain of 0.20% as opposed to 0.07% for FTSE100. Of our remaining 41 shares, 23 closed Up, 14 Down & 4 Unchanged. Stock level fell to 44.9% following sale of HMCX & XASX. | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 14:08 | Hope so, Gateside! I presume you noticed the kiss of death for ABF earlier - a GS upgrade. I was looking for 2709p to exit but nearly took 2690pish earlier. May Up target to 2755p (18.0% from current wave base of 2335p on 26 Jan) in the hope that some mug GS groupies push it up a bit further later in the week. What is your target or are you intending to keep it indefinitely? | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 13:41 | You'll have fewer companies than me soon! | gateside
20/3/2017 13:35 | Sold HMCX & XASX as FTSE 250 and All Share should have limited short-term upside. Number of companies now 41 with stock level reduced to 44.9%. | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 11:45 | Well done with HSTN, EI! Last pundit I listened to claimed that NYMEX was heading to $45 area before any rally. Markets usually go Up if POO is going Up so I'm not sure where that leaves us...maybe POO will gradually carry on going down to below $40 and stay in a range between $40 and $45 for some time which would likely help depress the stock market. Who knows! | nasdaqpat
20/3/2017 09:23 | Pat, I think crude is key here to unlocking wider equity weakness. | essentialinvestor
20/3/2017 09:01 | HSTN exceeded all my expectations. | essentialinvestor
20/3/2017 06:38 | Segmental & Phase tallies for American Indices (plus FTSE100 & DAX for comparison purposes) @ Day 90 & Day c276 respectively (Day 92 & Day 278 for FTSE) :- DAX~~~~~19.47%~(1017 DOW~~~~~18.37%~(1788 NASComp~17.46%~~(503 NAS100~~16.76%~~(464 SPX~~~~~15.21%~~(208 FTSE100~11.53%~~(667 NAS Comp & FTSE made new highs on Friday 17 Mar. | nasdaqpat
19/3/2017 12:05 | Late June/July has been a recent decent buying point. In terms of market timing, a lot of people appear to mention end of April/May so it may develop a little differently imv, either earlier or later. On Utilities, CNA worth consideration near £2, usually bounces from around that level. Held PNN in the past, not currently holding as do not fully understand Viridor and energy from waste profitability, very nice recent bounce on PNN which I missed. Hansteen(HSTN) my main holding report FY results on Tuesday. Building a small position in John Wood Group(WG.) which I hope will pay off longer term. Recent offer for AMFW will hopefully propel the Company in to the UKX. Started buying Friday afternoon, lower short term would suit me to add further. | essentialinvestor |
