The UK market looks vulnerable to me and could drop large short-term so sold 6 companies outright earlier...IAG, PAG, RR., TUI, BOY & STAN. Banked profits on all. Now 44 companies and stock level reduced to 59.0%.

You said it nasdaq.... These Markets are becoming impossible to call. Don't think the market knows what to make of Trump at all. In addition to Trump there are so many other variables. Lots of elections due in Europe too. A volatile year for sure.

13 Up, 1 Level, 10 down.

Star of the show was DGE today.

Meanwhile ABF is looking very sick.

People obviously preferring Alcohol instead of Tea!

FTSE continues to be dire and our portfolio was not helped by both SGE's & WTB's updates not being well received. Not too bad overall though as our shares market performed against FTSE100 today with a flat performance as opposed to a decline of (0.04%) for FTSE100. We had 25 Shares Up, 20 Down and 5 Unchanged. Stock level 63.1%.

I don't think SWDA can be called a global investment vehicle when America was up nearly 1% last night (and Germany & Japan were better) but SWDA is down (0.20%). The Pound is up 0.30% against the Dollar and that seems to be the determining factor.

Conclusion...SWDA and similar funds are not investments, they are fx casino gambles and can be dangerous to one's wealth.

I think we are now approaching a situation where it is impossible to distinguish between a company that is doing well and one that is not. There are too many extraneous factors...main earning currency, currency movements, perceived Trump treatment, BREXIT effect, cyclical situation, what has been priced in, volume of shorting etc etc.

I may sell everything apart from FTSE trackers before the week is out!

Same is true for SJPA where the Yen has appreciated about 25% against the Pound...possibly too much of an FX casino for my liking and I may bail these funds as I have no idea where the Pound is heading and they could just as easily lose a quarter of their value if there is currency normalisation.

At least VUKE & L100 are honest!

Thinking about it again, maybe you are right in that the value of American companies increased by about 15-20% in Pound terms in the weeks following the 23 Jun decision due to the dollar's appreciation against the Pound...that probably explains the gap.

No, I don't think its a currency issue...its probably that SWDA has got quite a bit ahead of itself in that it has risen 56.25% (2400p:3750p) since 24 Aug 2015 as compared to 30.66% for DOW and c34.00% for NAS Comp and nothing special for the minority stake in other countries.

Presumably, there is an element of front loading but I'm not quite sure how it has achieved 56.25% if it is designed to be a tracker and not actively managed.

Any ideas?

I did a bit of extrapolating a few weeks back...comparing the current DOW Bull which began @ 15370 on 25 Aug 2015 with its equivalent in the previous secular Bull which I deem to be the one that started on 21 Oct 1987 @ 1616 and that peaked @ 3024 on 16 Jul 1990. Comparing the first Phases of each suggests that the magnitude of the current Bull will be .543 of the former giving a current Bull target of c47.31% leading to c22642.

Other comparison exercises have also led me to targets of c25654 & c27861 but they seem too extreme so I'm sticking with c22642 possibly by the end of 2017 or Q1 2018.

Pat that correction is driven by weaker dollar vs sterling tbh.

Au contraire, Invisage, SWDA seems to be in correction mode since I bought it...3750p on 16 Jan could well be the Phase top.

Kept them all in the end but not happy with FTSE's performance relative to Germany & America. Our shares market performed against FTSE100 today with a gain of 0.17% as opposed to a gain of 0.20% for FTSE100. We had 33 Shares Up, 13 Down and 4 Unchanged. Stock level 62.4%.

UK stock market looks vulnerable to me and I suspect Monday's 7131 will be further lowered over the next few days and c6937 could well be on the cards over the next few weeks. To that effect I am sorely tempted to remove a number of our individual companies some of which are close to interim highs...trying to decide!

I don't think Trump would care if they did. He is ruthless. None at present. Need to do some research.

With Trump's announcement yesterday, maybe American companies that make oil pipelines might be a good investment?

I see you now have 50 shares instead of the 46 here. Which are the 4 that I am missing?

Thanks.
