WLFE has funded and developed the Drakelands (Hemerdon) tungsten and tin mine at the edge of Dartmoor (10km from Plymouth) in Devon, UK – the first new metal mine in the country for over 45 years.

Some strategic production took place during WW1 and WW2 and US miner AMAX had done a lot of work since the 1960s but pulled out due to the fall in the tungsten price. In 2011, WLFE received planning permission for an open pit operation. Resources are 145Mt and Reserves are 36Mt @ 0.18% WO3 and 0.03% Sn to mine 3Mtpa producing 3,500tpa WO3 and 460tpa Sn in concentrates. Production commenced in 2015.

The tungsten price has declined sharply to make near-marginal proposition. But Wolf has secured off-take agreements with large consumers. Major shareholders include RCF Group (41.7%), TTI NZ (32.2%) and Traxys (6.9%). In January, 2016, WLFE arranged a £25 million standby equity facility to assist with the ramp up of its processing plant. This is supportive. It should be noted that the board remunerations are over-generous.

I am starting to get anxious about this investment.
It has long been a tradition of West Country mining to spend all the investment capital on the mine, then find the minerals market collapses. Though I feel that a standby credit facility is good, I am worried about the 50% fall in the price of tungsten and also a seeming lack of cash flow by now.

We now need to see the six monthly figures and I would also welcome a UK shareholders meeting to question the directors, Mr Clarke in particular.I also think that I might be a good idea if the company squashed publicly any rumors that are circulating locally.

tradermel, you must catch up on employment laws.

Who is your friend at the Miners? Just give me the first letter of their sirname?

My contact's Sirname begins with "H". And yours?

If you do simple due diligence, you will find that on this thread I stated my positions, long and short. Last stated close of short.

Currently I and my colleagues have no position.

In the past few weeks, the index trading has taken precident, shorting that is!

A friend that works at the Miners Arms knows of no such job losses. Also isn't it illegal to take on employees during a redundancy period?

I think Mr Dudishes is spinning us a yarn. I have asked before and I'll do so again, what is your position Dudishes? Me, well I have no position as I sold @ 9.5 yet again.

Mr Market will decide however the price of APT appears to be close to production cost in China and since China have nearly 90% of the market I don't see how it can go much lower, however don't blame me if it does lol.

Interesting share price today, ask up without visible buys or news. Always makes me wonder how much we PI's cannot see behind the trends!

The bears have been caught out by a strengthening Tungsten price.

Holders can enjoy the subsequent bear squeeze which will take this back to double digits.

20p in July down to 8p does not compute!
